Hello, First of all I would like to thank you for adding this important issue in your video. I am trying quite a lot every day but still can not produce good sound. That hissing sound still comes. Further my thumb of left hand also pains after a while. Is it normal? Thanks.

It is normal in the beginning, just don't hold the flute tightly, easy and little firm girp is enough, but yes with practice thumb would not ache after few months, just do practice daily

Actually fatigue developes in the initial days of practice and sometimes tend to hold tight so feel as if fingers are stuck while playing flute

sir this is something important i wanna know, sir whenever i play RE GA MA, it hurts my ears with that "ringing sound" which is shrp and noicy, so i want to know is this problem with my playing or flute ( i have pvc flute) or with my ear, please help it is stopping me from playing, and how can i fix it

That sharp noisy sound comes when we apply excess pressure than needed , simply blow the air by pushing air inside the air blowing hole at the correct angle you will soon with some practice be able to produce sweet sound which doesn't hurt your ear anymore sir

I can play decent but the sound is bit harsh . How to blow softly so that sound is sweet and not very harsh . If I try to blow soft then sound doesn’t come at all

While blowing flute, is air inhaled via nose or mouth? I tend to gasp for air and inhale through mouth. Is that correct? Or wrong?

Yes you can breathe in through mouth as well but increase the nostril inhalation capacity too so as to inhale fully in no time and sustain one breath for longer period

You try to change the angle in which you are blowing the air and search for a particular angle or point from where the sound comes, for additional help look into the mirror and do your practice to get the exact alignment of your lips with the air blowing hole of the flute

We recommend bamboo flutes only as we make videos on them that is the reason. But to have a taste of wind instrument like bansuri you can go with a low budget pvc flute once you get the catch of the instrument buy a bamboo flute later, gather some more money and do budget planning till then
