Before You Read That Voiceover Script... Know This
Voiceover scripts are written with certain key elements and principles that help to sell them properly. Knowing this will improve your reading of any voiceover script. Reading any voiceover script knowing what makes it work and how it should be delivered will bring you a lot of confidence in getting through it.
In this video, we're going to cover the part of the voiceover script, how to spot the keywords, and also how to read them and improve your final output to make it more engaging and appealing to hear or listen to.
There are rules that govern each craft. once your're familiar with them... all that's left is practice till it becomes second nature. Granted, not all scripts are the same, however having this basic knowledge will give you a little more advantage before the specific direction from your client.
We never stop learning to improve our presentation of voice over scripts. So here's to making it a tad easier.

This is why I love Voiceover! We both can analyse the script similarly but read it in different ways. Thats what makes the art form so awesome! Great Advice man!
At some point I started laughing..u know that this they say, leaders are born, talent is born something like that .. your own talent was born, like your normal voice is your voice over ...🥺

The frustration at the noise...I felt that man😂
If you want to eliminate noise and isolate just your voice, get the Waves Clarity plug in. It’s incredible

I enjoyed your video. I have a theatre and music background, and I'm just starting to get into voiceover work. Generally, I thought your video was very helpful. I have just one critique for you, based upon my years as a theatre director. We always stress that an actor should rarely apologize for mistakes or mishaps (or even let on that there was an error with facial expressions, change of vocal tone, etc.) because even things that seem like a major error to you are often overlooked or not even noticed by the audience. They may not even realize that you called a character by his real name rather than his characters' name, but EVERYONE in the audience will notice a look of embarrassment, an apology, etc. on their face. Furthermore, one must get totally "out of character" in order to apologize to the audience, which is a horrible thing for an actor to do. I mention this because I didn't even happen to notice there was background noise in your recording, but you apologized for it probably three times, which definitely took me out of the flow of what you were discussing. Consider trying to get usable content from a speaker who apologizes every single time he coughs, and by the end of the presentation, has told you half a dozen times that his voice isn't 100% because he has a cold. It gets to the point where you remember that cough MORE than you remember the subject of his speech! Hopefully, you will take this in the helpful way it was intended. BTW, I liked the video and subscribed to your channel. Thanks for the helpful info!

The narrator of Sweet Tooth is old school 70s and 80s actor James Brolin. He's the father of Thanos actor, Josh Brolin.

Hi @Fremekwame You sound great. With a noise gate application to your audio you can rid of the Background Noise. I Help regarding that
I want to train this my beautiful tiny voice😂
Thank you for this video. Your advice highlights very well the psychology attached to narration and the elements most of us might not necessarily consider straight off. Some really interesting points I'm definitely going to take on board.👍

This was wonderful, thank you! I love that you broke everything down, and helped me to understand that the choice of intonation, pauses, and stressors are very precise for the intention of the script. I'm just getting into the space as a hobby, but can imagine myself printing out a copy of the script to mark up with inflections, pauses, and emotions to plan my course of action before recording anything.

I also really like that you included a documentary example to show how it applies to that. My intention is to translate, and voice over a documentary series.

Examples of your advice. ??
Thank you so much! I'm still new to voice over and still learning to do it for my youtube videos. I'm currently having some trouble on my recorded audio. I found that my voice is sound different in every sentences. And i don't really know exactly what's the problem. I usually record my voice separately in every sentences and then mix it in editing process. Is that could be the cause?
@fremekwame
8 ай бұрын
I think it may that. If you have a script, it's easier to just read the whole script sentence in one sitting than maybe doing this sentence and the other later. I don't know how much time is in between your sentence after sentence but it could have an effect

Can someone give me advice on how to better my INTONATION? I keep hearing I need improvement. It's so hard to decide whether its specific to what they want or if its just an overall problem for me in general. What are some exercises or training courses I should look into to better this?
@fremekwame
Жыл бұрын
Intonation is one of the most difficult things to change. If you've learned something that's now second nature, it's hard to adopt a whole new one. What I would advice is more listening to industry standard voiceovers and radio shows. Talked a little about it here; kzread.info/dash/bejne/aYqi1Zdyktaff7g.html
Excellent information; thank you! 21:22 Would you suggest experimenting with specific words to emphasize? I.e.: Would YOU like to buy a house, vs Would you like to buy a HOUSE?

Thank you and Yes you can do that. Sometimes you may need to emphasize both
How are you able to make a living doing voiceover? Do you have an agent or are you working on several sites?
@fremekwame
7 ай бұрын
I don't have an agent and frankly the websites don't bring so much... What works for me is repeat clients and being a well known experienced VO artist. I worked in radio for almost 10 years while doing voiceover on the side so clients reach often reach out directly
