Beezie and Katherine flat Coach at home

Спорт

Today’s video is an inside look at Beezie working with both Coach and then Katherine and Coach on the flat.
We apologize for the wind/sound. John does his best to repeat any important points when Beezie is hard to hear.

The kind of teacher every horse rider dreams of: clear, concise, mid-tone, calming and confidence-building, offering praise. Not shouty, patronising, rambling, over-instructing and confusing. I suppose that’s what years of experience at the highest level gives. Lucky rider and lucky horse. Beautiful combination and grounds. If I one the lottery I’d seek their guidance no question.

Thoroughly enjoyed that wonderful lesson. Even though I ride flat hunter under saddle AQHA and the poll is to be lower. The exercise to control his hind and mind is such a awesome transitioning exercise. Thank you so much for sharing such a beautiful ride❣️ Leslie 🙋‍♀️👏👍🐎💨

@@33CHRISTINA33 I would agree with you, that I'm not a fan of tie downs at all. I just feel like tie downs are shortcuts, but at least they're using a tie down that rewards the horse.

Yes , draw reinstate only useful in very experienced hands and detrimental in inexperienced or rough hands, better to use a gog in my humble experience

Those aren't draw reins they are a german martingale that has more release than draw reins, allowing the horse complete release when the head lowers.

Lift in this context means she thought he was getting a little heavy in front when she had him collected canter. Biomechanically, a horse can raise (lift) its withers which transfers more weight to hind end. And yeah, it's a half halt. Just creating more upward energy. Dont know how old that horse was but he's obviously pretty experienced. He was able to maintain that collected canter pretty well, but you could see how many nice lengthening breaks she gave him. Hard work for a horse. They pretty much only lift the withers when excited, suspicious, meeting new horse in pasture etc. So doing it for any extended time takes lots of conditioning and good practice. Great example. Don't get the draw reins either. Common HJ thing.
