So many youth orchestra memories with this piece!!! We never went a day without some first violin accidentally playing a chord at 28:13, and 14:07 was the bassoonists' favorite part, they never stopped humming it. I'm in tears!

I thought this was one of my less favourite Beethoven Symphonies... I was casually listening to this, and after 40 mins of listening, I'm glued to score. It is truly a beautiful and intricate composition and so perfectly representative of it's Pastoral descriptions.

To think, someone once heard this and thought "Do you know what this would go perfectly with? My Little Ponies with wings, half naked courting Centaurs, comedy drunk Bacchus and God throwing thunderbolts!" And so it was ...

The last movement start so simply, but at 35:44 fugato passages that ultimately open up in contrary motion to an amazing climax at 39:14-45 (anchored with low C (bass) and high G (violin). Such an expansive feeling...!

I love the part between 31:48 and 34:00 because I danced to it in my last recital before I moved away from my childhood home. I was 13 and had attended the same dance school and danced with many of the same girls since I was 7. So this was the music I danced to the very last time I danced onstage with my friends. Definitely a bittersweet memory. And my teacher couldn't have picked a more beautiful song for us to dance to.

Ludwig Van just had fun writing this symphony. His best is yet to come though. Yeah 9th Symphony in d minor opus 125

Grove's Dictionary of Music cites this composition as the greatest, if not the only great, example of programme music, and I think they might be some truth in that. I don't think I would I would think of the four seasons if Vivaldi didn't ask me to, I don't think I would think of a mountain peak if Hohvannes didn't ask me to, but I think I would think of a peasant village even if Beethoven didn't ask me to.

It went from I to K, skipping J! (Because I and J look too similar to each other; I've even seen cases where it went from H to J while skippng I as well)

What a wonderful symphony! He really knew how to compose for all types of instruments.

I have loved Beethoven since I could understand music - but I can no longer hear this symphony, without thinking about renting a convertible and driving through the Catskills some years ago, this playing at top volume, and my friend's lovely Japanese girlfriend sitting in the back seat, letting out her long black hair in the wind. Beethoven was in that car, as sure as he were alive.

This musical piece is a real and eternal masterpiece by Bethoven.While listening to it one can really imagine and sense the beauty and harmony in nature in every single note and in every part of the composition. The part of the oncoming storm and the storm itself are very effective but the last chapter in which the storm slowly disappears and everything in nature calms down as well as the thanksgiving of humans this is really the most impressive and brilliant part of this musical masterpiece.Thanks to Bethoven the genius who composed such an eternally beautiful Symphony.

Yes the 1977 Karajan recording. It was blocked by KZread unfortunately. That happened with the same recording of the 5th symphony but it was later unblocked for some reason. Hopefully the same will happen with the 6th.

The first movement of both were randomly changed from "unable to be monetized" to being outright blocked from viewing in all countries. A new video for the seventh symphony will be up tonight. Unfortunately, the Haitink recording of the fifth symphony was also blocked so that will be missing from the channel for some time.

Beethoven really got it together for this composition. I'm far from being his biggest fan but on this one occasion he unquestionably hit an all-time peak. Even his ever-present vice of excessive repetition does no mortal damage; if anything, it actually enhances the piece for once.
