Excellent choice of tempo. Why other conductors play this so slowly?

Problems with the so-called "German Tradition" of interpretation which survives still nowadays with conductors like Christian Thielemann. But fortunately, the period instruments and the "back to the basics" bring more logic and a certain idea of a "flowing current" of the music. Hope it will keep going.

Ken Ubukata Leibowitz en parle très intelligemment dans son livre Le compositeur et son double. Depuis une version de Volker Hartung a aussi ce tempo enlevé.
