Beet masters from the North | Edenhall 754 | Valtra & Valmet

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Sugar beet harvester manufacturer Edenhall from Sweden produces a unique trailed machine. The 754 has a holding capacity of 12 tonnes and lifts 4 rows of beet on either 45 or 50 cm row distance. There is also a 3 row model (753) available. The machine sits on 3 big tyres of which 1 is hydraulically driven. Minimum power requirement is 180 HP meaning the Valtra T171 in front of this one is a bit on the light sight.
Edenhall 754 specifications:
Number of rows: 4 (45 or 50 cm)
Bunker capacity: 12 tonnes
Weight: 9.900 kg (empty)
Tyres left: 2x 600/65R34
Tyre right: 900/65R32 (powered)
Controls: Touch screen terminal & joystick
This is the first machine of its kind operating in The Netherlands since harvest 2017. We find it in action during the last stretch of lifting. Because of heavy rains and snow the heavy clay soil is waterlogged and difficult to work on. Two Valmet 8100's are using 14T trailers and kept on their toe's trying to keep up with the harvesters appetite.
The 120 HP Valmet 8100 is part of the Mega range launched in 1991 and comprising of 4 models of which the 8100 is second smallest. It uses a 6 cylinder 620D Sisu engine with 6,5L displacement and 36x36 powershift gearbox. The farm relies heavily on a fleet of Volvo BM, Valmet and Valtra tractors to perform all kinds of jobs. Edenhall, being from Sweden, and Valtra from Finland make this a proper Scandinavian team. Beet masters from the north!

How do they start the field if the machine is offset ? They drive on the beet ?

No they leave paths in the field when drilling the crop so the wheels have room to run on.

When we growed sugarbeets in Sweden we drove on the crop when splitting a field. Not much loss at all

Don't they get fines for bringing such dirty beets to the factory ?? A self propelled harvester like Vervaet does a much cleaner job !

Yes you do get penalties for bringing in dirt (tare). But lifting clean beet late December isn't easy during such difficult conditions.

@@Agrifotodotnl You should check out a Vervaet under these conditions. This is still easy ! Difficult is when the machine starts to sink into the field. These Edenhalls are good when it's dry and in sandy soils, but a little bit of wet soil and you get dirty beets. The cleaning circuit is much to short.
