BEET GREENS, The Super Simple Super Food.
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Beet greens are highly nutritious and easy to grow in container gardens and raised beds. I start my beets in seed trays and transplant the seedlings into a hoop house. I have great gardening success and a large harvest even in our short growing season here in the north. Beet greens are super nutrition and can be eaten raw in salads or steamed and served in many dishes. They also make great omelets. They are very easy to grow.

MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: How do you have internet at your cabins? A: I have cell service at both cabins but it is spotty due to foliage and cloud cover. I can access the internet from my cabins but have to drive to a local wifi location to upload videos.
Q: How old is Frankie? A: Frankie will be 10 in April of 2018
Q: What video editing software do I use? A: Presently, all I use is Windows Live Movie maker but I’m considering trying imovie, Adobe Elements or SONY VEGAS PRO.
Q: How do you get your water? Did you dig a well? A: Presently, I haul water to the NY cabin but at the NH cabin, I drop a kettle into an old well that was dug by hand by the settlers in the 1700’s.
Q:What is your favorite brand of cast iron cookware? A: I prefer using vintage cast iron. My favorites are BSR and Griswold. If I had to buy new I would buy a Lodge Brand. I plan to purchase this dutch oven in the future:
Q: What do you use for refrigeration? A: We have a small gas refrigerator that we salvaged from an old Shasta camper and a custom icebox that I built into the cabin wall. We make ice on site with a propane freezer.
Video of icebox:

Propane Freezer:
Q: What do you use for cooking and heating? A: We use a Kitchen Queen 380 for cooking and heating during the winter months but we also have an antique gas stove in the cabin for when we don't need the heat from the KQ.

Beet Greens bring back some memories from my childhood, I forgot how great tasting they are! I didn't realize they could be harvested that way, I will surely be adding them to my garden next year, thanks for sharing!

+Josh Smith I didn't know this either until I experimented with them. Been clipping them since spring and still clipping cause the greens are under hoops.
I started growing beet greens last year when I found a bundle of organic beetroot (tops had been cut off) on offer at my local supermarket. I planted the roots in pots on my windowsill and they just keep growing! despite being harvested regularly...I now keep a regular look- out for the organic bargain beets and have them in pots all over my apartment. Best veg ever and full of potassium
My grandmother was born in 1889 and when I was a little kid told me that girls used to slice a beet and dab it across their cheeks to give them rosy cheeks. She made the absolute best pickled baby beets ever. I love beets.
First time doing a garden this year. I can see my beet greens popping up already!

J.C. I like that you took the time to reach out to those who you are unable to reply to and let them know you read their comments! it shows your character and the type of person you are! That attitude is in part what makes your vids some i eagerly watch for and enjoy spending time watching. Beet greens and turnip greens were a part of what I grew up on. Fry up some bacon and stir the greens in with some spices and serve with beans and corn bread! Brings back memories for sure....
