@@Prowls5432133 HIVES IS IMPRESSIVE! I AM AMAZED BY THE LIFE OF BEES. PEOPLE DON’T UNDERSTAND HOW IMPORTANT THEY ARE TO NOT ONLY THE OBVIOUS REASONS (MAKING HONEY AND POLLENATING FLOWERS TO KEEP TREES ALIVE AND PLANT LIFE GOING) BUT THEIR HONEY ALSO IS USED TO HEAL WOUNDS IN PEOPLE AND ANIMALS TOO. ALSO HELPS HEAL BURN VICTIMS WHEN PHARMACEUTICALS AREN’T AN OPTION. WITHOUT THESE AMAZING BEES, WE WOULDN’T HAVE POLISHES FOR OUR FURNITURE, CANDLES TO HELP SOOTHE OUR SOULS OR EVEN HELP CELEBRATE OUR FESTIVITIES. OR GIVE US SOME AMAZING FLOWERS THAT WE USE TO GIVE TO LOVED ONES, OR ENJOY IN OUR OWN GARDENS. AND OF COURSE WE COULDN’T HAVE HARVESTS SO BOUNTIFUL WITHOUT THEM!! SO FOR ALL OF YOU WHO PUT TIME, MONEY, HARD WORK AND LOVE INTO SAVING THESE PRECIOUS BEES, THANK YOU 🙏 ❤ THE WORLD THANKS YOU ALL!

unfortunately, the kitchen counter is not to be stepped on with his dirty socks while processing products he sells to others. I hope he can edit that part out soon. But its too late already, the cat is out of the bag. The boy needs to be taught about the sanctity of the kitchen space. It's not a place to build bee boxes, sit on or step on the counters and other crap while using it as a place to prepare food.

A reason that most people use wax foundation instead of the plastic inserts is because it takes 7 to 8 ponds of honey to make 1 pound of wax. If your bees make less wax, you get more honey

I wasn't expecting to keep any honey this first year, but to my surprise I now have a 5 gallon bucket full of honey sitting in my garage, and today I just put a 100% full super on each hive for the winter and closed the hives up until spring. It's been a really rewarding hobby for me this last year, and I have you to thank. Maybe my new winter hobby will be microgreens 😀 Best of luck taking the bees on a road trip!

I hope the garden where you are moving to has a large garden for you to grow plenty of vegetables and salad plants as well, and plenty of flower varieties for your Bees to get pollen from (Dont forget a greenhouse as well). You make me happy making these video's of your progress doing all this stuff and I hope it inspires a lot of younger people to become more self reliable and grow their own foods. Hi Alex, despite having seen these episodes I’m really enjoying seeing it in one long vlog. It’s amazing how much I’m learning seeing it again. I’m no bee keeper but definitely a honey fan. I use honey on toast or bread but also in place of sugar in most things like making bread. I only buy quality honey as I love trying the various tastes. I do love acacia honey as it’s light, and great in most things but I also love woodland and heather honey which is about as dark as it gets and makes beautiful soft gingerbread. I also loved your Austrian episodes as I used to live there and so love that country. Keep vlogging!

You made real progress in your understanding of bees in captivity. I wonder if you will develop and investigate more natural beekeeping now you’ve got the basics sorted. Many think bees prosper and can cope with varroa etc if they are subjected to less frequent inspections, chemical interventions, being fed sugar etc. Frames without foundation allowing the bees to build the size of cells they want also let’s you harvest comb honey, for which you’ll get a much better selling price. Just a thought.

Hi Alex. I'm just starting my beekeeping life but I have made candles from local bees wax here in Suffolk. You should try the dipped candle method. It's so much more of an artisan method and one which has been used for hundreds of years! It's so easy and you'll get more candles per the amount of wax! Love your channel, you've been the final push I needed to dive in. Seeing how hesitant you were to how quickly you became confident in handling the frames has given me that confidence. You explain things in such an easy and positive manner. I'm seriously very impressed! I'm 47 and you inspired me! Ps. Tell your parents they have a very beautiful garden! And I'm also a huge fan of orchids tho I only have 3 house orchids so far! ❤

I’ve just gotten on a waiting list for my first “nuke” hive, and I’m the first name on their list for the year In Bosque Farms, NM. I guess November is when they start the wait list for the year. Alex you are an inspiration to me as I’ve watched your channel over the past year or so. Thank you buddy! There is so much to glean from this episode 😮. This is like a 2 hour class on bee keeping for a newbie.

@just_alex. you really need some (any kind of stone, brick, blocks) stone under wood posts. and under the turtle house. **In addition, please grab some old shingles on your Crown Board or an adhesive linoleum liner on top, just to keep the RAIN, DEW, Moisture out of the wood. WOOD + DIRT + WATER = ROT i am extremely glad that you are doing that hard work for our planet. one person does make a difference.

Hi Alex! I really love watching your videos! My relatives on my fathers side were gardeners and my father a hortoculturist. I love your talent with your cameras. Beautifully filmed. Great angles, light and editing. Your calmness and the slow music in the background make your videos a delight to watch. You are very generous and your way of teaching and sharing your experiences are very valuable to me! Great job!!

hello there.. I'm a beekeeper from Norway, very nice to see your videos :) I notice how you have your frames in your hive, I would turn your hive around, so that the frames go along the opening in the hive, and not like you have them, then the hive will be much warmer in the winter, and then the bees will be able to protect yourself much better against attacks from others :) just a tip 😊 keep going and good luck with next season 😁

Alex, thank you for your hard work. I understood everything about your bee hives you can your neighbor that your honey it's very good for them. Specially, those who have asthma or allergy it's good because it's from the area where they live anyone who have allergy it's good to try to find a beekeeper and buy honey from them on your neighborhood.
