Beehive In Old Shed Wall

Beehive In Old Shed Wall
Got a call from "JC" the homeowner about a beehive in his shed wall. Went out & had a look, located in Gentilly of New Orleans, Louisiana.
The interior wall was not the way to go on this as there was built in shelves, work benches, etc... against the wall, so opening up the exterior wall was the way to go.
One problem though: there was a pile of debris against the exterior wall, old wood, leaves, a bunch of crap & a chain link fence very close to the building!
JC was very accommodating & cleared the debris & cut out a section of the fence for proper access.
Normally with lapboard I stagger my cuts, just looks better when putting the wood back but there was a decent bit of rot & termite damage so JC said it was cool to cut the boards right on the studs.
The bees were pretty cooperative even with all the cutting & pulling of the boards away from their nest, that's always a big plus!
This was a win win all around, saved a nice colony of bees & was able to help out a good dude.
If you enjoy my videos please consider subscribing & tell ya friends & family, much appreciated!

I am absolutely petrified of bees and wasps, but watching your videos and seeing how much pride, workmenship and love for what you do it's amazing to watch, they don't seem as daunting to me anymore thankyou love all the videos thankyou
Some nice frames there JP. Always gentle, always kind with the bees. They do so much good. Never kill them. Have them removed by an expert like JP. JC made the right decision.
So awesome 👍👍👍🏻
I love your love and respect for nature. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I don’t claim to know bees-I don’t even know how I got here, but now I like to watch JPs videos. They’re so informative, well made and, i appreciate the skill and how JPthebeeman is respecting these amazing animals❤️

In my 60 years...i have never experienced a wild beehive... Only managed 2level bee boxes. All the same enjoyable to watch the process for a few hours early in the a.m. Brings back lots of memories....
very good, seeing you at work moves me because you remind me of my dad and my brother (who died) when they called them to do what you do 😔👍🏽

i am the type to run off at the sight of a bumblebee but these bee videos are so interesting to watch. almost feels like exposure therapy lol
I just have to say that you have the best "Bee march" videos! I love the videos posted by Beekeepers, but JP has the absolute BEST marching shots! I can't get enough of them. It's like watching living evaporation in progress. Thanks JP! Ummm, I also must say that you Beekeepers are probably the only people in the US who can say, "The girls are getting pissy.", without getting in deep trouble.

Wow JP you’re amazing God bless you so professional!
As always, it's awesome to watch you working, all the procedures made with a lot of care, thanks for share!
Most of the homes in Louisiana have got termites. Anytime the wood is next to ground your gonna have em. Good job on bee removal.

Tim Hottinger actually it has a lot to do with sea level & winters. The further north you go & sea level increases there tends to be far less incidence of termites. Carpenter ants are more of a problem in say New York than termites will ever be.

ROTTK9 sometimes smoke does nothing there is many factors like weather, temperament, time of day and how you work. I uploaded a cut out video today of the nastiest hive I’ve ever dealt with, no amount of smoke would help 😂
Pretty comb!
Each of his videos should have a “sting count”. Lol

Great video again! It always amazes me how the bees don't seem to mind you slicing up their hives and putting in a box! And you're the only one that never seems to need protection. Thanks again.

There’s an awesome woman, Texas Beeworks, that very seldom wears gear. She’s super smart and I think she outdoes Jake.
Wow, I've never seen termites like that before. Nice job JP
JP you are such a chill dude with bees. I admire your relaxed personality!
Great timing! Thanks JP❣️
Just simply amazes me how you almost never use any protective gear and handle the bees. Love to watch you work, and save all the bees instead of killing them. Thanks.
MARVELOUS ! Yes, That Shed looks big, and a Treasure to have - even without the Bees. : ) COOL Bee Vac containerizing! Thanks for Terminate view ~ Interesting . . _as i look over shoulder wondering if i just haven't discovered them here yet._ Cheers!
Great video JP. Very informative. The termite information was really cool too. I was unaware that they made nests like that. I have only seen boards they have made tons of holes in them and it seemed like that was where they lived. Thank you.

I think ive been binge watching too many of your videos JP, I had a dream last night that I found a beehive and was eating honey off the comb HAH.
Just love watching your videos JP up here in Canada. You make me think of Idgie from Fried Green Tomatoes movie how she's so calm around bees that they called her the bee charmer. I would call you the bee whisperer.

That was a tidy job and the bees were worth having they seemed very calm.

I've done cutouts on homes where I had to tell the homeowner something like, "your house is like Swiss cheese from termites". To demonstrate pick a board, any board, and let's pull it off and see. How about this piece of door trim? So I pop it off and holy shit everything is bad. Entire house. There are entire neighborhoods like that.

Honeycombs are so pretty!
Between you and Texas Beeworks, my fix for rescuing bees is met. And the termite info was a bonus!
Phew, brother i could pick that accent a mile away! Hello from st Bernard
That's some beautiful comb JP.
Love the videos man!
I really like his knowledge about other pests that hang out with the bees and his concern for the homeowners property. Many workers are not concerned. That looked like a carpenter bee hole they were using for access. I learned all about this with my mom's house. Carpenter bee makes a nice opening in the wood and bees and yellow jackets and every other insect moves in! Lesson, check out perimeter, eaves etc about once a month. And catch it early, prevention, prevention, prevention will save you so much!
Your braze respect from Jamaica 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Good one JP.
Do not know what you are doing up at this time of the morning posting vedios but I love it!!
Great Video Man. Keep them comming.

This was the most interesting thing I’ve seen today. Great video. I was dumbfounded at first that you weren’t using a bee suit. But it seemed like the bees 🐝 really didn’t mind.

Awsome,,,good job bee man..
Here in SW Florida we are an insect paradise as well. At least my bees (My swarm that moved in 6 weeks ago) are doing fantastic. Well you got all the pretty girls there but your still missing the pretty ladies. Your slacking JP. 😀😀😀
Aren't you afraid Termites will falldown in the box? 15:27 - I now suggest all beekeepers start calling them a cluster of bees, but a jello-of-bees!

The bees will take care of any termites in there nest, likely the reason that termite nest next to them was so abandoned.
