Bee Man Vs Brick Wall Full Of Bees!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

The Homeowner's son told me he thought the bees had showed up 3 weeks previously but Dad said no way! Boy was Dad right!
This one was a good bit of work pulling out all these bricks, only broke 2, dealing with some pretty solid mortar & some serious rain delays!
But...
I didn't have to work from a ladder & the bees were very gentle.
My Brickman, Mr. Willie did a great job putting the wall back together & the bees found a new home in Gonzales, Louisiana.
If you enjoyed this video please consider subscribing to my channel & please tell your family & friends about my channel, I'd really appreciate it!

Many years ago, after I'd had a few years keeping bees, I had a young neighbor who followed me around as we collected swarms. We lived in western WA state and every year there were more swarms than the law would allow. Occasionally we were asked to remove a colony from a building. We assested the situation and occasionally just opted to trap the bees out of their home location hoping to out run the queen inside the shed or wall. It could take a few months, but we'd get a couple decent colonies from this shed colony. Young Jonah learn a lot in those days. His dad would tag along as we swapped out a new box with a laying queen and take a hive away at night while putting a new one in its place. Jonah is a grown man now after nearly 30 years and no doubt is still keeping bees. We have Varroa mites now and small hive beetles which we didn't have in those days. We would never tear into a brick wall to get 7 feet of bees out no matter how much the owner was willing to pay. Neither one of us would have had the patience to want to attempt such a thing. We did alright catching swarms and we each had upwards of 6 or 7 nice colonies. I gave it all up before Varroas hit. Once a beekeeper-- always a beekeeper!! Cheers, JP and beekeepers everywhere. Bob in Montana.

Well thanks for the reply, my friend. After many years of not messing with bees, I had to build a horizontal Layens system hive. My garden can use the pollenation services. I placed the 40 inch hive on a shed roof about 12 feet above the ground and facing south. I'm waiting for swarms season to come along here in So Central MT and will set out three catcher traps in hopes of getting at least one by the time the end of April or May. Today is near 70 degrees on the 26th of March. We will probably get a bit more cold and snow before the end of April, but if a tough feral swarm is looking for a good home, well, I'm the dude here ready to provide it. Thanks for the vids, JP. Always entertaining. Bob in MT

I really like the voice over with explanations. I have never had bees but I am enamored with them and if I could have them here I would. We have winter temps in the -40º F ranges with not a lot of flow times, high mountain desert. Things are getting serious when those 'eagle-eye glasses' come out... :)

I enjoyed the combination of live sound and voice over. A little music would good. Maybe “The flight of the Bumblebee”. LOL

I liked both the voice over and music. I also liked that in the voice you talked more than usual about what you were doing and why you’re doing it. Thanks bunches!
