Barry has been married to his wife for 53 years. There were never any scandals regarding these gentlemen. There are two hits, Tragedy and How Deep is Your Love that they wrote in the same day. In the 60s, Robin was the lead singer and has a unique voice of his own. But when the twins realized the range of Barry's voice and that he could hit falsetto at will and with ease, they made him their lead singer and that's when the group really took off.

They had been singing for years before they realized they could do the Falsettos so well. Barry is the main one who can hold it the longest and then he was followed by Robin and his twin brother Maurice. They are all baritones, no sopranos ;) Fanny Be Tender With My Love showcases each brothers very deep voice and their superior falsettos. Cheers.

How Deep Is Your Love is one of the all-time great slow dance songs. Barry uses more of his natural singing voice in that one, although he still does exercise his fantastic falsetto in parts of it with the classic Bee Gees harmonies.

I graduated HS in 1979. The Bee Gees’ were HUGE!!! Even though they started singing as kids and had hits in the 60’s and early 70’s, their biggest fame comes from the last half of the 70’s. They came on strong in 1975 with JIVE TALKIN’, which can’t be missed!!! Then FANNY (BE TENDER WITH MY LOVE) and NIGHTS ON BROADWAY (famous for being the song where Barry’s falsetto was first discovered).

Yes, I believe Barry was 12 and the twins 9, in 1968, when they first signed with management, were named the BGs, and started earning money. I believe Barry and his father signed a 5 year publishing contract for his songs right around his 15th birthday. Can you imagine? What were you doing at 12 and 15 years old??? And for the twins, at 9!! Their mom said, if there was a rare weekend they weren’t booked, they would have her call around to see if anyone had an opening, in case another act had to cancel.

I grew up listening to the Bee Gees, & you have no idea how happy it makes me, to see the younger generation discover the music we fell in love with !!! All three brothers had amazing falsetto's, however, Barry Gibb, in my opinion, has the most unique falsetto, because in his falsetto, he also used his vibrato, which is rare! They were brothers, & Barry is the last one, but please review more of their music, you will not be disappointed. They span over many decades, & crossed quite a few genres. I believe, that if there is music in Heaven, it would sound like the Bee Gee's ❤️❤️

Here's some interesting information on the Celine song you reacted to featuring the Bee Gees. The Bee Gees wrote that song and presented it to her. She loved it immediately and insisted on the group helping her out with it. The Bee Gees have had an amazing journey in music through the years. They are basically responsible for the Disco explosion that happened in the 70's. This came back to haunt them because there was a huge disco backlash in the 80's that destroyed their careers for much of the years to follow. They were reduced to writing songs for many artist that included Celine Dion, Barbara Streisand, Diana Ross, Dion Warwick, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. But true talent won't be denied and they redefined their music and again had many hits that followed all over the world except here in the states. The US just could not forgive them for the disco. They have a huge fan base here that remain loyal and we're excited to see them being rediscovered by your generation. Just keep in mind that when you dive into their catalog of music there was no auto tune back in their day. What you hear is their true voices not electronically altered and cleaned up sounds that you have in today's music.

@@thisisdnareacts5237 When you start your exploration into their music it's helpful to know that they are brothers, Barry, Robin and Maurice ( the latter two are maternal twins). Their careers began in the mid 60's. The songs from this chapter in their story are much different than the songs that evolved into the mid 70's. They had a break up a the start of the 70's. It didn't last too long and when they reunited they found that music scene had changed and the stuff they did before was no longer relevant. They were about to be let go from their record contacts and knew they had to adapt to changes. Talent won't be denied and they burst back into the scene with a fresh sound that redefined the 70's. As I mentioned before the 80's tested their wills but again they found a way to roll with the punches. Becoming producers and writers of many huge hits that were recorded by other artists this allowed them to keep the music that was inside them alive. After the anger over the disco rebellion had faded away they once again returned to recording and performing as the Bee Gees. If you were to research music from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's you would find their fingerprints all over it. So in short what I'm trying to say is that when you look into their music you'll find huge diversity from their early stuff to the songs they made in late in their career. I'm positive you won't be disappointed.

It's like they invented harmony. Live band, no auto tune, no computerized voice enhancement and one mic for all three of them. Back then (1979). singing was just pure, raw talent. By the date of this recording, the BeeGees had already been singing together professionally for 21 years when Barry was 12 years old and the twins were just 9. All of the Gibb brothers including little brother, Andy, could sing in that amazing falsetto voice. But Barry was the master. He was able to exorcise more control over it. The Gibbs were, in my opinion, the most multi-talented families in music history. They wrote their own songs as well as writing songs for many other musical greats. This song was included on a compilation album to benefit UNICEF. There were many artists who recorded songs on the album, but the BeeGees gave all the royalties from this song in any form. In, at that time, an unprecedented move, they also gave UNICEF the publishing rights to Too Much Heaven. To date, Too Much Heaven has raised over 11 million dollars for UNICEF. In 1967, they wrote a song called To Love Somebody which appeared on their third album titled BeeGees 1st, but their first internationally, as the first two albums were only released in Australia. BeeGees 1st was released in July '67. Otis Redding was set to record To Love Somebody on his next album. Sadly, Otis was killed in a plane crash, Dec 10,1967. I thought for the longest time that they didn't record it themselves until after the death of Otis Redding. Their brother Andy Gibb had a very successful solo career as well until his death on March 10,1988. Just 5 days after turning 30. Andy had developed myocarditis, inflammation of the heart, which was brought on by a viral infection While most people recover from myocarditis, Andy's body was unable to fight the infection due to his history of drug use. Soo sad!

Thumbs up for you guys.. The thing about this music and older music is back then everybody heard it on the radio unless you were older. Today is much different, today’s society is mixed with all sorts of music types because there is so many ways to hear it. Back then there was like one or two late night shows that had the artists on and just a few radio stations. What I’m saying is everyone experienced The Bee Gees. Today everyone dances to their own flavor and that’s good but times were different then. Also during the seventies it was the first time people as a society started dancing in different ways, there was no hip hop dancing yet. So the mood of The Bee Gees etc wasn’t just the music it was new territory in experiential of a style that people welcomed. It was new and fresh to America and the world! When I hear this I feel like I did when I was a teen and thinking about girls. There really isn’t any new genre of music today or on the horizon. But I like to see folks reacting to this music even though I figure it’s about getting subs and money but still I like to see young people hearing beautiful voices, where just being able to belt out loud isn’t called talent because it really isn’t. Thank you and keep doing what your doing!❤️

The Brothers Gibb ...... Professionally known as 'The Bee Gees.' I was married a year before this song was released. The song would had been our wedding song, even if hubby said no. They wrote ALL of their songs! Born on the Isle of Man to English parents, the Gibb brothers lived in England, then moved to Australia. (1) Maurice (on the right-short hair ) While on his way to surgery for his intestines, he had a heart attack, yet the doctors operated anyway. (I heard Barry say this on a video.) He was in the hospital for only 2 days! Maurice (pronounced Morris) passed in 2003. I feel he should had been the lead on at least one song on every album. Beautiful voice. (2) Robin (on the left-long hair) passed in 2012 from cancer. He and Barry complimented each other with their voices. To me, he was the comedian of the group. Robin and Maurice were fraternal twins. (3) Andy, (not pictured) the youngest brother had his own successful career. He passed in 1988, at the age of 30, from inflammation of the muscles around his heart. He and Barry could had passed as twins, even though he was 12 yrs younger than Barry. The 3 brothers were also married and had children. (4) Barry (in the middle) said, "I am the last man standing." Barry is the eldest of the brothers. On September 1, 2021, he and his wife, Linda will celebrate their 51st wedding anniversary, which is also Barry's 75th birthday. They have 5 adult children, and 7 grandchildren. The Bee Gees have sold over 220 million records worldwide (probably more by now.) They were also writers for other musical artists. On a side note, their sister, Lesley is the first born. She was 76, January, 2021. She lives a quiet life with her family. Listen to: How Deep Is Your Love ----- Staying Alive --- You Win Again --- Emotion (a song written for Samantha Sang) The horns are played by 'seasoned' players from a 70's group called 'Chicago.'

Brothers Gibb aka Bee Gees started out singing when they were kids while their youngest brother, Andy hasn't started yet. Barry, older one in the middle learned his falsetto by accident according to an interview called The Last Bee Gee. Barry lost his brothers: Andy in 1988, Maurice in 2003, and Robin in 2012. Barry at 74 still active in music. His eldest son, Steve Gibb who also is a musician plays guitar in his father's band.

Celine included a Bee Gees dance fun thing in her live tour in 98/99, She did Stayin' Alive and danced to You Should Be Dancing! The stage was turned into a disco floor lol. Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this one by them, but its my favourite song from around 1987 - You Win Again. Love it.

The Bee Gees are brothers, the middle is the oldest and only one still alive, Barry and the other 2 are twins. Robin on the left and Maurice (pronounced Morris) on the right. They wrote over 1000 songs including songs for other artists. They were asked to do the soundtrack for Saturday Night Fever, which at that time became the highest selling soundtrack album ever. It's only been surpassed by the Bodyguard soundtrack. The Bee Gees are the second biggest selling artists of all-time behind the Beatles. You've entered into the deepest rabbit hole of all... music made before auto-tune. The thing about the music from the 60s 70s and 80s, was that the sounds you heard on the album was what you'd hear in concert. No lip syncing and no auto-tune to mask things. Try Kool and the Gang, Earth, Wind & Fire, the Pointer Sisters, the Commadores, Heatwave, REO Speedwagon, ZZ Top, Van Halen, Chicago, Boston, Kansas, Foreigner, Styx, Journey, Boz Scaggs, Bob Seger, Steve Miller Band, Linda Ronstadt, Heart, Led Zeppelin, Eagles, AC/ DC, Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Ray Vaughn. For the gospel side try Al Green from his soul days and Marvin Gaye. Jazz side Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Miles Davis and Johnny Coltran and Diana Krall. And there are still so many more quality artists to hear.

The group the Bee Gees were brother's. All 3 brother's have falsetto range which made them that more talented. The Bee Gees have been recording as a group since the early 60's. The group became even more popular in the 70's. Their music could easily stand up today in rotation on any R&B or Soft Rock Radio station. Sadly Barry Gibb the lead singer is the only brother still alive. The youngest brother Andy Gibb not in the group, but a great solo artist in his own right passed away first. Maurice Gibb passed away then Robin Gibb passed away leaving only Barry.

Welcome to a huge rabbit hole. Barry Gibb was born Sept 1946. Robin and Maurice were born Dec 1949. The brothers started performing on Australian TV, as The Bee Gees, around 1960. (There are KZread vids of some of their appearances.) At first, they covered familiar standards. Then they covered "new" music by The Beatles, Bob Dylan, etc., with Barry playing guitar as well as singing lead. Sometime in the mid-1960s, they started writing their own material. In 1967, they moved back to England, and under manager Robert Stigwood they became a hit in England and the U.S. Their early hits included "New York Mining Disaster 1941," "To Love Somebody" (which they wrote for Otis Redding, but then recorded themselves when he died before he could finish recording it), "Words," "Holiday," "Massachusetts," "Gotta Get a Message to You," "I Started a Joke," and "First of May." Their sound at that time was an almost indescribable type of haunting pop music with their special harmonies, and Barry and Robin alternating lead vocals. Their lead guitarist Vince Melouney and drummer Colin Petersen were classified as members of The Bee Gees at that time. Same with their next drummer, Geoff Bridgeford. After those folks were gone, any further backup instrumentalists were just "personnel" and only the three brothers were officially The Bee Gees. Robin left the group for a year in 1969-70. He recorded some solo stuff. Barry and Maurice recorded without him. Eventually they patched things up and returned to performing together. Their next big hit string came in the mid-late 1970s, when Stigwood encouraged Barry to use his falsetto voice, and they began to do Disco music. The film soundtracks, and the soundtrack albums, for the movies "Saturday Night Fever" and "Stayin' Alive" are almost all Bee Gees material. Little brother Andy (born 1958), who looked and sounded like a younger version of Barry, began performing around that time also. Barry wrote and produced most of Andy's hits. As far as I know, the only vid of Andy performing WITH his brothers is a version of "You Should Be Dancing." Andy died in 1988. Barry's pre-Disco "normal" voice is very pleasant. But Robin's voice was one in a million. Instantly recognizable, and touches your heart. Maurice could have been the lead singer in any other band, but when paired with his brothers he was relegated to instrumental work, arranging, and backup singing. In their whole career, they only had a handful of recordings where he was the lead vocal. (Two that come to mind are "Man in the Middle" and "Closer Than Close") His voice was the least outstanding of the three, but he had the largest vocal range. The fact that he could go "low" was another reason he normally ended up on backup. So, over a half-century career, they had times when they were in great demand, alternating with times when not many people were interested. They re-invented their style several times. They also wrote hits for other artists, including Celine Dion (as you saw), Diana Ross, Dionne Warwicke, and Kenny Rogers/Dolly Parton. This vid will help you pick some songs to start on. Each song is shown for only a couple of bars, so not major spoilers. kzread.info/dash/bejne/oXiMvKqrabXTmJc.html

He also released the song "Mother of Love." There's debate as to whether he was referencing Mary, or Mother Teresa, or his own mother, or maybe a combination. The song was included on that 2006 Christmas album in the German market, but not in the English-speaking market. Here it is. Good example of how he still had that unique tremolo voice, even in his Fifties. kzread.info/dash/bejne/i5t3mpSOlaS7ito.html

Barry once explained in an interview that he didn't believe in famous groups releasing Christmas music. He considered it a gimmick. So, since either he or Stigwood were the setters of policy, The Bee Gees as a group never released any. But Robin released that solo album.

The 1st time I heard this song, I was 15 years old. I was sitting on the floor in our living room. They sang with so much emotion that I had tears running down my face. It didn't hurt that before this I found out that Barry and I shared the same birthday, me in 1963 and him in 1946. While I was crying, my daddy came in and told me to knock it off or he'd change the channel. He was mean.
