A original speed corrected Demo from Spirits Album, 1979
The Bee Gees spent much of 1978 on Spirits Having Flown, the most time they had ever spent on one album. Barry said that he felt it had to live up to the sensational success of Saturday Night Fever. This only heightened any tendencies the Bee Gees had toward perfectionism, Barry in particular. No doubt each song has many, many recording dates, as they carefully recorded and re-recorded each nuance, but none of the dates are known. There was a break from about the second week of May to the last week of July.

I was born in the 90s, luckily I know this song and the album from elementary school, and this truly is one of the most wonderful songs ever written. How I wish I could have seen them live,,,

I could see the Bee Gees 1989 & 1991 in their concerts in Zurich - I still thank God today that I was able to experience that!

michael jagger I believe we are talking about the 1979, "Spirits Having Flown" Concert tour, They made a T.V. special of about 45 minutes of the concert but never released the whole concert !

Everyone, please, I don't want you to think you have to plus one every comment I made. It will become impossible for you, espectially hackettiano, as this group gets larger!!! Ah oui il manque les voix des autres et la montée vocale n'est plus là dans la version finale. On voit ce que les autres voix apportent à la chanson. J'adore cette chanson.

It isn't a demo. The background instrumentation is definitely the same as on the finished master. It sounds like it's probably an early incarnation of the released version prior to BG overdubbing his vocal harmonies and prior to the orchestration. It sounds like the actual lead vocal from the record as well. I always suspected that Barry did all of the vocals on this tune. It seems likely that he did based on this recording and the absence of the other two.
Barry can't sing like our angelic Robin!
