*I have a saying “messy house means a messy mind”* Last year I was was staying in a broken down house with 6 strange (and much older) men I didn’t know, in a room filled with 4 + recent tenants crap everywhere, at the end we were all kicked out during the pandemic meaning I was going to be homeless and I went through a really sad breakup, lost my job and found out I had to rehome my rescue cats that I’ve had for 5 years (this all happened in one week and during covid btw), in my last month in that crap hole I got so depressed I stopped caring for myself and my big room ended up like a bomb went off, I had no care anymore I was just waiting to die, the men that lived there made me so uncomfortable and miserable I’d rather leave my rubbish piled up in my room rather than leave my room. I watch these with a new perspective now. I know how they feel, maybe not this intensely but similar. If you’re curious I now have a lovely home and a beautiful bedroom and my two rescue kitties are with me and I didn’t end up losing them because I worked my ass off to make sure I had my fur babies with me and life is getting better!

I went through a couple years of living by myself, hardly making ends meet, and struggling with rent just to make sure my 3 cats had a roof over their head, clean litter box, and food to eat every day. That was about 6 years ago. I have such a big heart for them. I couldn’t give them up, they are my babies and my support system ❤️ Without them I could have moved in with some friends and saved myself a lot of money & trouble. I’m so glad I stuck to guns and kept them with me. You can’t put a price on love like that!!

You realize these people CLOSE THEMSELVES IN right? And nobody has the right to just MARCH IN and inspect the place. Except maybe a landlord, but even then.... I have seen some USELESS people who are meant to check on people with mental problems. I had beer in the fridge of a bipolar guy I knew. He had an inspection by this BRAINLESS young government tart. She opened the fridge and saw the beer. There was NO FOOD in the house. Nothing else in the fridge, nothing in the cupboards ONLY 1 JAR of coffee. The stupid bitches report read "Everything fine except he drinks too much beer". There wasn't ONE open bottle around or even in his bin. She never saw him drinking or smelt anything on him because I had been elsewhere and someone dropped me off at his place where I had left my car.

I think it’s a lot easier to clean someone else’s stuff because there’s no sentimental value to anything for you. I hold sentimental value for the dumbest things that other people would definitely throw away if they had to clean my room for whatever reason. Not to mention things that you’re trying to avoid. In this case, it was the bedroom for the lady. In my case, it’s the corner of my room and under my bed because that’s where my cat spent a lot of time before she passed away. Those areas being touched bothers me so much bc i don’t want them getting dirty, and they weren’t even her favorite spots until she got sick. I just hold sentimental value to those areas because that’s where she always felt safe

Honestly this is completely heartbreaking. The fact that she has been living like this is SO upsetting. Depression is such a hard thing to deal with and the fact that she was probably doing this alone is soul destroying. By the sound of it she doesn’t have a single person to help her in any way shape or form and is completely isolated. These women are wonderful for doing what they do. It probably means the world to this lady and honestly if this doesn’t make me more grateful for what I have then nothing will! I really hope this lady gets the help, support and more importantly the company that she clearly so desperately needs!!

plus, elderly people have to live on less money than 10 or 20 years ago when pensions were a bit higher. She probably couldn't afford stuff and had to make do with the things she's owned for decades, even if they're broken. There's a lot more old people searching through trash cans and collecting recycles to earn a little bit of money nowadays. It's very sad people worked all their life, paid taxes and raised children just to end up like this and speaks about where societies even in so called 'rich' countries are headed to :(

Some also die with millions of dollars but refuse to pay the plumber or gardener.......There is an elderly person in the previous area I lived who was notorious for not paying handymen that he lives in a half-built home because he gets carpenters in and then doesn't want to pay for the work.

@@janinegough8555 it seemed like it was in the UK. I think the sad reality is that people get missed, if they have nobody coming round, then there is nobody to see how they're living in order to get the help. I hope she has on going help now.

I think the walls need to be professionally treated and re done and as they are just deep cleaners it’s not really their area ? Although for the sake of the program I think production should have organised to get that sorted out.
