The daemon prince is one of the things that fascinated me about the chaos mythos. Not only are the chaos gods heavy metal to begin with but the daemon prince apothiosis has always captuvated and mystified me.

Scanning the titles of the videos I see "DEMON PRINCE" and think "Cool, Jack Vance I haven't read those books in years", then I read "40k" and goes "Aww, I wanted Jack Vance". This is not my usual reaction to 40k :)

There're famous pseudo jokes that I think we should mention, such as: Tzeench has 3 favorite legions, like his least favorite is Thousand Sons, his 2nd least favorite is Space Wolves (spirit of Fenris are Tzeench demons), and his favorite one is Alpha legion because nobody know what the plan is, even themselves not knowing they're serving Tzeench's plans. Khrone also have this with his least being the World Eaters, while he much prefer Sanguinius to work for him instead (Cuz Angron, the lobotomized angry child doesn't make for the best weapon).

Now is that confirmed or did you make that up? I'm sure Khorne preferred Sang but is that actually stated about the blood angels and their favorite legions? Doesn't make sense for you to know who a God's favorite is.

@@maltheri9833 It's an old running joke among the community for years now, similar to how Krieg's fav weapon is a shovel despite they have guns and even bayonets, or if you want a more ancient joke: Baneblade is considered a light scout tank in the Golden age of technology.

My friend ! Were did you find these epic pictures ? That picture at 2:40 was in my older Chaos Space Marine codex. It only showed the Demon Prince in the picture though not the rest of that "hellish" building or space ship or whatever it is. To me it looks like some battle fortress. In a galaxy of unknown billions-trillions ive always imagined there are only a couple million daemon princes tops. Just enough to be known and something someone would try to achieve, but not enough to where its any sort of commonality and is still insanely rare.

In all honesty, Grandfather Nurgle is the easiest to 'ascend' up the demonic ladder. If any mortal can withstand Nurgle's Rot long enough, they can gain demonhood as a Herald of Nurgle.

I love to see the older looking cruder artwork. It just looks so much better than the newer slicker stuff. I really would not know if its actually older or not but it seems like some stuff is.

Few times you mention how the prince's give up what's left of their humanity but I thought a lesser deamon who performed great feats for their gods can too be ascended to greater daemonhood?

Yes. Lesser Deamons can promote in such a sense. Deamon princes are mostly unique in that they were mortals. So other Deamons won't take that name. But a bloodletter may prove itself to become a herald and may then become a bloodthirster or something equally monstrous.

Demon princes aren't really "true" demons, so a lesser demon couldn't be ascended as a prince. They can however ascend as a greater demon, but in the same sense, a mortal could not become a greater demon, only a prince.

The word "ephemeral" isn't what you think it means. Chaos spawn having ephemeral claws or a mark of chaos being ephemeral means that they don't persist for much time, which implies that you dont take on the mark of chaos for long or that a chaos spawn will only ever have claws briefly. An aurora is ephemeral. A shooting star is ephemeral. The corpse flower is ephemeral.

@@user-rm2ez7ep1p Not particularly though imo. A chaos spawn is the complete opposite of ethereal and idk much about marks of chaos but it's hard to imagine that would be ethereal. A silk dress might be described as ethereal but a mutated crab claw is not something that could ever be ethereal.
