@@Olga0265 It took 2.5 years of consistent therapy (2 times a week for 1 hour each session). Most of the work I did was outside of therapy. So my therapist taught me coping mechanisms and I had to do the work outside of therapy. I still have traces of anxious attachment but that’s normal because it will always linger around.

I hope this advice applies mainly to the dating stages of a relationship, and how to keep your standards and self esteem. I think being all the time like this in a marriage means something is wrong. A marriage is a connection of souls. You cannot be close with someone in this defensive energy. This behaviour means to me you are cautious about letting somebody into your space.
