For my generation it was the Alphaville original but earlier this year I lost my youngest son at 18 . He will forever be missed and always be young . This was his generations version and we played it as his final song as he went on to the next world . We will miss him dearly and will always remember him and talk of him in the present. Love you Son

I well up just listening to this. I’m 52 I don’t want to live forever I’ve dedicated my life caring for others I’ve made a purpose for my life but this song makes me look back on the what might have beens. It’s poignant because it’s at Christmas a lot of us take time to reflect and the words to this song have so much more meaning in that respect 😔

We all stay forever young in our brains but ageing adds depth to us from life’s experiences in ways we cannot imagine when we are physically young - it’s true scary terry and I’m much older than you. To stay forever as you were when you were young without the perspective and wisdom you’ve gained from your lifetime of caring for others would be by comparison a very boring and much less fulfilling existence.
