Beaver Dam Removal || Walking Upstream.

I spent here 3 hours and was working non stop. This one was really strong beaver dam. I've got invitation from municipality to open the dams.

    Yeah, another grandfather beaver dam. All those twigs some with leaves still attached and the reeds and mud. As usual you took it out, but no way was it collapsible!

    The water is pretty deep on the top side,..i think that it is first time seeing the water above the falls so deep,..packed pretty tight,..good water flow,..good job,..

    Instead of municipality you could say city, town, or village depending on its size. I think you are right in trying to loosen the mud on the back side of the dam. You may not need a lot. If you can cut a wedge down low as far as your shovel will allow when you clear the front side I would think it would collapse.

    That was a monster dam, truly, well built and strong. Congrats on the invite from the municipality. Would that mean you have access to there tools and resources to aid you in the dam removal? I hope so, what a day it will be to see you exchange the potato rake for the 21st century equivalent.. Excavator!!! Good luck and keep up the great work.

    As I was watching you on this episode, I noticed you were doing something and I think if you expand on it, you can collapse the damn quicker. Before letting the water loose, you usually stomp the mud behind the dam dig it deeper and I would give you more water power to push the dam over for collaps it. Just a thought.

    That was one sturdy dam. It did not want to go down. Good video. Good workout. Now go buy some expensive strong, gloves. Also purchase some, halfway decent looking socks so Elfa Roberta will not be embarrassed by Tėti Mantas. 😱

    That was a new approach to dam removal. Small sticks grass and mud a shovel is the only way to remove it. Is the municipality paying you now? Thanks for the drone view, of the flooded field and length of the canal you drained. Please let us know how soon the beaver rebuild it.

    In America, I see a lot of electricians working on high voltage equipment wear a pair of rubber gloves for insulation and a pair of tough leather gloves over them to protect the rubber from punctures and tears. Cheap rubber gloves might last longer with gardening gloves over them.

    Hey Papa. Maybe a larger square shovel that can cut a larger and deeper hole when you dig. I think we need to find some appropriate music to play when you start dancing on top of the dam, he he he he. It seemed that version of the dam was a pain in the butt !!

    You work hard to drain the backed up water but if you want to discourage the rebuilding of the dams you have to destroy the dam fully. I know it’s much more work, but if you don’t bring down the entire length the beavers are more likely to rebuild. Thanks for the entertainment.

    Maybe after you clear out a spot on the front of the dam (down stream) you can try to dig a hole under the dam to see if the higher pressure and flow will tare the dam down?

    You packed down the clay on the back side of the dam so it couldn't colaspe. Digging down under the front side of the dam makes it top heavy and it will colaspse.

    You made me nervous walking the top when you dug away the front of the dam. Thought for sure this was going to be your last video. Glad it didn't happen. Stay safe. Doesn't all that debris pile up downstream and cause another blockage?
