Red Buffalo is a beginner ski trail located at Beaver Creek Resort. The trail runs from the summit of Beaver Creek Mountain down to the bottom of the Red Buffalo Express Lift. The trail begins to the right of the top of the chairlift and gently runs down the eastern boundary of the resort. Eventually, the trail turns to the right, returning back to the bottom of the Red Buffalo Express Lift.
Beaver Creek Resort is a ski resort located near Avon, Colorado. The resort is located in Eagle County, about a 2-hour drive west of Denver, a 2-hour and 20-minute drive east of Grand Junction, a 45-minute drive west of Frisco, and a 30-minute drive east of Eagle. Beaver Creek is known for its world-class amenities and customer service as well as having a large variety of terrain for skiers and riders of all ability levels. Beaver Creek Mountain, located at the top of the resort, features a variety of terrain from steep expert runs used annually for the FIS World Cup off of the Birds of Prey Lift to the gentle beginner slopes located near the summit of the mountain. Grouse Mountain features an isolated pod of advanced and expert terrain while the nearby Larkspur Bowl offers intermediate bowl-style skiing. Bachelor Gulch, which is located lower on the mountain, features a variety of intermediate and beginner trails as well as ski access to the town of Avon. Arrowhead Mountain is located at the bottom of the mountain and was a separate resort until it was purchased by Beaver Creek in 1993. McCoy Park is the newest expansion of the resort, opening in 2021, and offers unique beginner gladed bowl terrain. The resort was opened by nearby Vail Mountain in 1980, making Beaver Creek the first resort acquired by Vail. The resort is still owned by Vail Resorts, granting Epic Pass holders unlimited access to the resort and Epic Local Pass holders 10 days at the resort with holiday blackouts.
