I've said it before and I'll say it again: well done Mike, you have very quickly become the internet's best source of footage of beavers doing whatever they do. Whether it be felling trees, cutting logs, building dams or just general feeding, grooming and swimming. Thank you so much for all your time spent getting accepted by these lovely furry animals that you can film them so close, and we can see exactly how they live. Thanks again.

Thanks for the kind words. I love watching and filming these guys, and I am so glad there is a small segment of people who get joy out of watching my videos.

Another lovely video. The sound of the rapid nibbling in the snack break makes me laugh, also when he stops perfectly still to check out what's going on around him! Looks like he's playing statues! But my goodness he really puts his back into it... Great stuff.

My spirit animal lol. I wish there were more beavers in my area. They mostly live in the river & don’t build dams, I only know of one assuming some jackass hasn’t shot them. A well deserved snack break❤️

I always wonder, are these conscious decisions they're making or is what they're feeling more along the lines of compulsion? Just how smart are they? I know if they hear running water then they cover it up with mud and plants, in spite of if there's water there or not.

They sure seem clever when you watch them; but I do think a lot of it is compulsion and instinct.

He did get that segment free and dragged it all the way back to the pond. I find that once the beaver has started chewing they are a lot more comfortable with me moving quietly towards them. They get pretty fixated. They don;t see very well but they have an excellent sense of smell, so they know I am there.
