You'll notice it is getting dark at the end of the clips. Sunset is rapidly changing now and the chances of seeing Beavers in light are reducing all the time. The window of opportunity is decreasing. They are nocturnal animals, active mostly in the dark. It is only in the longer daylight hours of summer that we can catch them at dusk and dawn as they leave or go back to their lodge..
As the Beavers emerge from their daytime sleep in the Lodge, their first thought is usually food. This can be a good time to see them.
A large willow tree came down in very high winds recently (not felled by beavers) and they have stripped it very quickly. Taking leaves and branches back to the Lodge. Some of the branches are very thick and you can see them stripped lying around the pond. Eventually they will end up in dams or on the lodge.
