I have this on normal Blu ray but I love this movie it's definitely my favourite live action version of a Disney princess movie.

Hi Dave, I never really notice the age logos on the covers anymore, guess I'm just used to seeing them, you can still get it with the slipcover, we seem to put them on everything (I'm not a fan of the slip) so glad we still release the 3D versions, that must be so annoying if you live in the States but as you say the are region free, must be a pain for you when they release multiple versions of the same movie all over the world and you have to get them all (and a strain on the wallet) great video Dave, take care.

I don't tend to notice them too much either. I actually much prefer your logos over the ones we have. For some reason they just stood out like a sore thumb on this cover ... maybe because there's two of them stacked there. It is a bit annoying having to buy different versions from different countries. But is part of the chase, which is fun for me haha. But, I only do it for the films I reealllyyy love! Take it easy!

Haha, unfortunately it takes me a while to get my hands on the US releases since I have to import, and Amazon has been no help with Disney releases for the last year. I probably won't have my hands on the disc for a couple of weeks

I got the steelbook and I love it. I live in the US So i just picked mine up at best buy. Amazon is not great with disney movies! Even in the states!

That's great to hear! No, they've been terrible lately. No pre-orders, movies available for 10 minutes on release date and months to get stock. It's frustrating! My Canadian mate is getting all mine for me now, which takes a little longer.

Disney is really unfair with their releases in different countries. They have some films like Maleficent and Beauty And The Beast that were released in 3D in the U.K but not the U.S They don't do slipcovers in Australia. They only do digital copies in U.S and Canada. I guess they are made in different places or Disney is just really weird with national home video releases.

Disney have different distribution and marketing arms around the world. So, in the end it just comes down to what each location's local distribution arm wants to release / thinks they can sell based on the current market and sales. It becomes a bit frustrating when not everyone gets the same as everyone else, but I just think we're lucky that in this day and age we have options and importation is easier than ever. Would be preferable if we didn't have to, but it is what it is sadly - and after so long, I've just become accustomed to it.

Hey Dave. 😄 Do you happen to know if the steelbook of The Lion King signature edition is coming to Jb Hi Fi? I didn't notice it on the website although I believe it came out in the US at Best Buy? I'm doubtful

Hellooo. Though I can't absolutely say for certain, my educated guess would unfortunately be no. There's no set release for even a standard edition of the Signature Lion King yet, and when (or if) it does get a real ease I don't think they'll give it the steelbook treatment. We usually get the steelbooks for the live action stuff, but never end up getting any of the "special edition" packagings for the animations - digibooks, lenticulars, steels etc.

It's a shame the animated films don't get treated that well over here. Don't get me started on our versions of the "Classics" line on DVD that had incorrect numbers on the spines of 90% of the films because they left 5 movies out of the collection like they didn't ever exist, then added two random ones. Ugh. Anyway! Another blu-ray installment on Monday (hopefully! If I can get organised enough!)

I love that cover art, it's the same one used on the US 2D edition!

the rating that the UK put all over the place looks so ugly, they get some awesome editions but mess it all up with the rating.

AGREE!! Some of the more 'boutique' labels like Indicator, Arrow and Criterion offer a reverse-cover that doesn't have the ugly ratings logo on it, so you have a choice! Absolutely love that!!
