It’s hard to put into words what I felt when I learned Angela Lansbury had died. This song was playing, and it took me back to my childhood… And then, the tears “overflew like memories.” What a beautiful thing , and what a moving thing …. She was so versatile and played many roles quietly and beautifully for so many decades. I would have been sad anyway learning she had passed. But here is the crazy thing: All these years and I never knew it was her voice. 30 years … And I never knew that. That’s what happens when a single artist enters the heart not just once but throughout many generations. Rest in peace, sweet and amazing lady.♥️🕊🙏🏻✨

There's something about her voice. Even 'Have a bit of Priest" from Sweeney Todd makes me smile and its....a touch darker than this.

That lady was 90 years old and still singing her heart out on stage. What an amazing woman! She will be missed by many.❤

The only thing she missed was its past your bedtime, she said it differently here, but I'm not going to nitpick or complain because she is a true star and a legend. I closed my eyes as she sang that and I saw the whole ballroom scene and her as the tea pot. Good night love is so special, because we know she sadly won't be around forever, when she passes, goodnight love will truly belong to her and her alone ❤

Just watching this amazing performance of Angela Lansbury after hearing of her passing. Truly, she left an incredible legacy. RIP Angela Lansbury.

What a MAGICAL performance, that really bought me to tears. I cannot believe that I am REALLY crying. Dame Angela did this performance, in Sept 2016, at age 90. Just AMAZING.

She is a wonderful woman. My grandma loved "Murder She Wrote" so much, she never missed a single episode and then she kept rewatching. Whenever i see Angela, a sweet memory of my grandma comes to my mind.

I would've freaked out once she appeared even if she didn't sing. Even over the screen she has such style, greatness, and warmth...she deserves to be called "a legend". Her presence is incredible. Very few performers manage to get me emotional. She does. Long may she live!

Dame Angela Lansbury originated this role, as she did many others. She originated Mrs Lovett in Sweeney Todd. She originated Mame in Auntie Mame. She starred as Gypsy Rose Lee in Gypsy. This is quite apart from her Oscar-worthy performances in Gaslight and The Manchurian Candidate. This is a woman who gave us our childhoods in Bedknobs and Broomsticks. Even before Beauty and the Beast, Dame Angela Lansbury was a Disney legend. She most recently appeared in Mary Poppins Returns. Dame Angela Lansbury, at 93 years old, is one of the finest representations of Disney. Long may she continue to serve.

Sorry a few errors here! The original Auntie Mame Rosalind Russell. Angels originated in the musical Mame. She was not Gypsy RoseLee but her mother Mama Rose in a revival. The original Mama Rose was Ethel Merman.

While the two lovely ladies have worked together on multiple projects, Angela understood the symbols of wisdom and reflection behind the song, and that is why I am watching today. It’s crazy to think: Angela Lands hey didn’t originally WANT to sing this song. She felt it would be better sung by another character. But the producers convinced her to sing it once “just in case”. She sang this song in one take and had everyone in the recording studio in tears. And that one take made it into the movie.
