Oliver will have a fuller, happier life, having a meaningful job helping the family farm. Every animal including humans are fulfilled when they are useful and love their home/family. We have forgotten animals feel important when given tasks to learn and do. Standing around in a field eating till you're full everyday with no purpose is the worst life, to me its = to a prison term. In nature, horses have jobs to do, protection, finding food and water, evading threats, breading, wintering and finding certain minerals deposits.

Seeing him now makes me realise that I've missed him terribly. He is such a handsome boy. I sure do love him. ❤

It's so funny you should say that, because yeah I was thinking boy is that cart ever noisy 😂. Oliver is just so awesome and beautiful. You would never know how ruff his life was at the very beginning, obviously before JR and family bought him and literally brought him back from deaths door 😱. I mean he had EPM, which has killed many a horse. But all the round the clock care, love, doctoring, and attention he's gotten, has brought him through it all. Oliver really has an amazing story. Didn't Oliver do well !! That was a long trek and up and down into those brook's were tricky but our boy was doing the work happily.. it's great seeing him so healthy and happy..all the good food and the exercise is making him grow .muscle and height too. He sure is a quick learner and has taken to it so well. Whatever you ask of him he does. @@victoriah.2083 he was named after Oliver Twist the orphan that went from orphanage to orphanage and never having enough to eat . Like Oliver going from sale barn to sale barn and slowly starving to death . It has meaning . My harness is fine 🤠🤣

@@bonsaidouglas9180 Thank you for sharing. I missed his naming origin. Hope it is NOW. As to OT- I didn't remember the story having multiple orphanages featured. And as to OLIVER the Clydesdale I remember only 2 former owners prior to the auction at which JR & Emerie rescued him. This is according to one vid of JR describing his research. It was the 2nd owner who did/could not give the care and nurture that OLIVER deserved, unfortunately. Or rather stars being aligned as they do, without the auction YT would never have had the chance to see what good care, patience and love can do for such a wonderful horse as OLIVER. A beautiful video, love watching Oliver, brings back many fond memories on my uncle’s farm and their wonderful Clydesdales.

I used to drive Carts and Sulkies, Your reins are too short and need to be longer so that you can SIT on the tails. At least this is what I was taught. You leave a nice long line but sit on the ends so that if you ever drop a line it does not flap and possibly get entangled in the wheel or in the horses legs.

Brings back sweet memories.

I don’t know if I ever commented on this before or not. I have a beautiful Missouri Foxtrotter his name is Quinn and he is sorrel. He actually won a lot of ribbons when he was younger. We got him as a rescue and he was suffering from EPM but three different vets misdiagnosed his walk as a stifle injury, he started getting worse. Had I never seen your channel when you first got Oliver I would not have probably ever learned about the p.m. after watching your videos I watched a lot more videos, ask the vet different people who talked about a PM and showed videos of horses with it and how they walked and looked at some of the different symptoms. I was able to diagnose that that’s what my horse had. we started him on a three month regime of medicine, and also some anti-inflammatories thrown in. We changed his feed and started exercising him. He actually did get better notice sleep better in the first seven days now it’s been exactly a month he’s putting on a little weight and muscle, but his gate is good again and he even trots very nicely I used to be afraid he would fall over his leg was so wobbly. Thank you for showing Oliver and talking about what you went through to help him. I continue to enjoy your channel and really enjoy watching Oliver pull a cart.

I've seen some of JR's dad's pond videos. He improved the drainage and increased the size of the pond, He has recently finished a wall (seen at 1:26) and intends to build a water wheel. I admire his skills and hard workmanship.

As I recall, Oliver had difficulty with the hanging tarp during his obstacle course. Fascinating to watch him learn new things, IMO.

I love your videos, and look forward to them every week. I don't know much about horses, but love them. Why don't you get a female Clydesdale and breed them, along with the Missouri Foxtrotters.

All animals are so precious - they need kindness and care. No reason for cruelty or neglect, even if their raised for food, in my opinion even wildlife responds to care and kindness - it is always like music to hear animals being praised and talked to. I do understand one at times need to be stern for safety reasons - but time spent just bonding is huge. Love this channel - really appreciate and admire your knowledge shared. ❤
