BEAUTIFUL Aquascapes at AQUA 2019

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

I show you the beautiful aquascapes and planted aquariums at AQUA 2010 in Telford, UK. AQUA is a UK aquatic exhibition show for trade only and showcases the biggest aquatic (indoor and pond) brands and their products. This year aquascaping was well-represented with some excellent freshwater aquascapes on the Evolution Aqua, OASE, Tropica and Aqua One booth.
Let me know which is your favourite, and why, in the comments!
Keep on scaping!

I do like the first tank's complexity, all the little nooks and crannies to peer into, and would love to see some corydoras puttering around in it. But I think my favourite might be the island style around 14:30. It's so lush looking! I also really like the first of the 4 tanks by Luis. The last of those 4 I'm not sure about ... I think I would like it better if it had something tall along the outer sides. Some valisneria or something, partly obscuring the tall sticks, and really drawing the eye back toward the path in the centre. Just my thoughts...

Hello George, thank you for sharing those lovely aquascapes! Gives me so much inspiration! As I was watching (and getting into a second glass of vino...ok, a third - I’m on vacation 🍷), I had a thought and thought I’d share it with you; It would be super cool if you went over the different Lily Pipe options - what you use and why. I looked them up recently and didn’t realize there were several options for the output to change the flow. It actually inspired me (specifically, the ‘spinner’ outlet) to grab a few PVC fittings from work and MacGyver my Fluval Flex output for my darling Betta, Frank the Fish, so the flow wouldn’t be so strong. (I basically adapted a 3/4” “T” to the outlet and made the flow much more gentle). Well, he just loves it and I thought I’d share that tip for your viewers. Anyway, Lily Pipe options are a mystery wrapped in an enigma for me, and thought it might be a topic that would interest others who are just finding their flippers in this crazy world of aquascaping. PS. Also, I thought you’d appreciate that I came across a 1-2-Grow pot of hygrophila siamensis 53b, so naturally, I simply had to have it and randomly stuck it into my planted tank. 😎

Yes, regarding the BiOrb terrarium... the black one had a "Cape Sundew" which is the red tipped variation and the white BiOrb also indeed had a carnivorous plant, it's a pitcher plant "Sarracenia Purpurea?", pardon the spelling. And regarding the scapes the very first one with the "trees" is possibly my favorite aquascape ever!! I've tried to pull that off, and I fail miserably... GREAT VIDEO, as always! ♥️😁

Hi, loved the video! I’m really getting into aquascaping and fish stuff recently so I really enjoyed seeing all these creative tanks. I was wondering, your little black schnauzer, have you had her tested for eye problems or anything, health problems I guess? We just adopted two schnauzer puppies last summer and one of them was liver colored - the runt but we soooo wanted her. The other we teased my sister about begging to get as well, it “chose” her haha. But here almost a year later they’ve grown so much. At the beginning we noticed something funny, we thought she was autistic or something, she just kind of looked off. My mom asked a vet who recommended an ophthalmologist who told us she was born with cataracts and microphthalmia. We’ve since noticed she’s actually very smart when we get her attention as a mostly blind puppy. Just wanted to know if maybe there was a pup with similar conditions? Lmao

The island scape and first wood only scape by Luis for me! I don’t usually like wood only but this looks great! - I know it’s unlikely you have time to respond, but I’ve just purchased the digital PFK Aug 2016 to read over you discus scape, I really want to take the plunge but worried if I go for an intricate heavily planted scape with carpet, epiphytes and stems + CO2 I’m risking disaster due to demands of the fish. What do you think? I just can’t decide

Considering they set up the aquascapes on site. Could you not start using non-aquatic plants that will survive that short duration during the competition? Seems like that would give a competitor a huge edge being able to select from non-aquatic plants that nobody is using and look beautiful. Obviously some testing would be needed to see what plants would work but it could be a cheesy way to win.

This may be just my lack of contact with the Aquarium culture, but... what happened to acrylic tanks? They were the future, now all I see is glass and tempered glass tanks.

QUITE SHOCKED THAT NO COMMENTS ARE STATING HOW UNNATURAL AND PLASTIC LOOKING MANY OF THE SCAPES. SOME ARE EVEN BORDERING ON BEING UGLY. LOTS OF BEAUTIFUL WOOD SCULPTURES WASTED BY BEING SMOTHERED BY DOZENS OF DIFFERENT PLANTS.

The tank in the thumbnail would be perfect to put some dragon ball z characters in there.
