I liked the pebbles, but I prefer the sand. It looks absolutely awesome and still very natural, just a bit more "tidy", if I can put it this way, and more structured with better definition. The Corys are sooo cute 😍😍❤

These are all beautiful scapes, what a place! 😍😍 However, I think the needs some friends (a group of Pterophyllums) and move into the largest aquarium. 🙂

George, love this video, I am new to aquariums at 65 and got a Fluval Flex 15 for Christmas. I really enjoy the plants but I have been taking all my plants out to vacuum the substrate when cleaning. This is a real pain, It appears you do not have to do this with the aqua soil? That would be wonderful!

@georgefarmerstudios regarding a Tropica plant in one of your older videos, sorry I couldn’t find it, it was in a video talking about Lindenia Rotundifolia, you mentioned Tropica having a variant that doesn’t get browned out on the bottom. I only see one lindernia on their site, but I thought you spoke of three, the “regular” the variegated, which seems to be the one they have now, but doesn’t say variegated, and the other one you mentioned. I could be way off on what I’m remembering though. Thanks for the help, and all your contributions to the hobby. I really appreciate UKAPS and your participation over there. Thanks

All my tanks are low tech but I Do use a filter, heater and i do regular water changes .I think it's so important as we keep our fish /shrimp in glass boxes And I like to think it keeps there environment nice and fresh .in nature rivers would constantly be flowing ,or heavy Rain falling. Lovely aquariums George .😊

I'm glad I watched this. My aquarium is 9 years old. Tetra plant substrate and fine gravel has not been changed. The tank is 28 litres and has blue jelly shrimp, 3 old Amano shrimp who are 7 years old and 6 Borus Maculatus. It's heavily planted with cyrocorine Wendtii which has grown up to the water surface, anubis and some mosses. I do a 40% water change every 2 weeks and clean the filter, check on the heater. Fill the tank up and with declorinated tap water and feed the plants with Tropica Specialised plant fertilizer. Tank is crystal clear and the animals are healthy. I was thinking, maybe I need to take the tank down and start again because of it's age. But seeing this aquarium, so beautiful. I'm going to leave it up and running. I don't have any issues with it. Some of the cryt are starting to look a little frail on the odd leaf. But I will tr Trim them back, like you, add some root tabs and carry on my usual maintenance. I also Do gravel vac superficially when I do my maintenance. Love your aquarium. Beautiful job. Nice and simple. 😊

It looks like an afterthought, on a large scale. The placement in the room is awkward and doesn't flow w/ the rest of the space. This tank looks too tall and skinny vs long and wide. Longer and wider has been recommended for angelfish. IMO it's a waste of money IF it was a custom build, less so if was off the shelf.

I think it was an excellent choice to replace the pebbles with the cosmetic sand. Excellent color choice with the sand as well. The anubias blended into the pebbled foreground but with the bright sand the anubias is suddenly highlighted. The whole aquarium looks brighter. It is amazing what a relatively small change can do to change the over all feel of an aquascape. Before it was dark and moody and now it seems refreshed. Beautiful both ways of course but I am really loving the sand.
