Beau is in his 80's????? He looks amazing. Good for him.
Can't believe Beau is 82 years old. Almost as old as Lloyd when Lloyd appeared on Seinfeld.

I've long known Beau Bridges as being General Landry on Stargate SG-1 during its final few seasons.
As a kid in the 60’s….Sea Hunt was huge…..he was a great character actor

He was a leading man, not a character actor.
As a 1960s Kid I Love Watching Lloyd Bridges in "Sea Hunt".
Airplane was my introduction to Lloyd Bridges, he's sorely missed!
Lloyd was perfect in Airplane. Great serious actor and was hilarious in comedy.

Underrated line from airplane is when one of the younger airline employees asked Bridges character shouldn’t we turn on some of the runway lights? To which Bridges says “No! That’s exactly what they’ll be expecting”. He was in war mode.

I was lucky enough to work with Lloyd Bridges on Honey I Blew Up The Kid… I was a big fan of Seahunt as a kid so it was a big thrill for me just meeting him. He was a great guy, easy to talk to, easy to hangout with… I loved getting to know him.
I am in my 60's now, but the reason that the silly performance by Lloyd Bridges in Airplane was that he typically played the Hero/ Action-Star character and this performance was a surprise. The same with Leslie Nielson. They were playing against type. I find it amusing that many younger people are mostly familiar with the exactly the opposite and are probably surprised when they see the earlier, more serious work.

I remember my mom saying that they and Robert Stack were basically doing parodies of the roles they had played.

My introduction to Lloyd Bridges was in High Noon. Great work.
Lloyd on Battlestar Galactica as Commander Caine. He was epic. They should've made a spin off series based on his character.
i remember Lloyd Bridges in Sea Hunt as a young boy in the 60's...one of my favorite shows.
I loved him in Hot Shots & Hot Shots Part Deux!
Lloyd in hot shots when his hat blew off, killed me- so funny
One good thing about being my age is I saw Lloyd Bridges in his serious roles, including Sea Hunt, when I was young. He never did comedy. That made it so much funnier when he did outrageous parody in Airplane! and Hot Shots. Now people don't realize that in Airplane! Bridges and Nielsen were doing parodies of their own screen personas, which made the outrageous lines even funnier.
im old and was introduced to his dad in sea hunt....in syndication lloyd finding out that he could actually do broad comedy and make people laugh must have been a huge kick for him
I was a fan of your Dad from Seahunt. My buddy and I never missed it. We wanted to Scuba dive and did when I moved to Florida. absolutely loved your Dad on Seinfeld. Have always enjoyed the Bridges.
Beau has always been my favorite Bridges. Best actor, best looking, best personality. I hope he does a dozen more films.
Beau was great in Stargate SG-1. I loved Lloyd in Seahunt but he was hilarious in those later roles and those made him a legend.

Yup.... Sea Hunt... watched it every week. And I was laughing so hard regarding the irony of the casting and script for Airplane. Hilarious stuff. And then came Naked Gun with Leslie Nielsen. Nice Beaver. Yes, I recently had it stuffed. And back to Lloyd Bridges.... Mandelbaum. You think you're better than me - on Seinfeld.
I am 73. I remember Lloyd Bridges from the TV series Sea Hunt. I actually watched a few episodes recently, having not seen a minute of it in 60 years. It wasn't the same to me. Apparently being 70 puts on a different perspective as compared to when I was 10. But every time I have seen Lloyd Bridges over the years, Sea Hunt has come to mind.
I remember him from Sea Hunt when I was growing up.
He lived in Mt. Reba Bear Valley ski resort full time in central sierras. Robert Conrad was his neighbor. During the holidays the Bridges sons would visit. They stopped off in our small mountain town of Arnold. Word traveled fast, especially for Beau the gaggle of kids. Everyone got excited. The Rainmaker was his best movie.
he was great on Seinfeld. some of my favorite episodes.

I used to watch Sea Hunt every week as a kid. They were actually pretty good shows.
He looks and sounds so much like his father now.
Lloyd Bridges will always be "Commander Cain" and the "Glue-sniffer" to me! Fortunately, I saw him in a heroic context BEFORE I saw the "Glue-sniffer"! LOL
I'm 65 and I rember Sea Hunt. Mike Nelson was Loyds character name. But I didn't learn untill I was 10 Mike Nelson's real name Loyd Bridges.😊
‘Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue’ -classic line, oft repeated by my friends and I at art college!
Mike Nelson was probably my first hero… loved that show. I would strap my mom’s canister vacuum on my back and crawl around on the living room floor pretending to be a scuba diver… Dad thought I was nuts….

Lloyd Bridges is an Legend, absolutely cracked me up.
Great for Beau! Great family too, sensible people. Also Lloyd is besides being incredibly funny (still laughing the heck out because of the glue bit and "ROY! Guy's been ignoring me all week!") also a really excellent actor.
Yeah, I loved Lloyds little talks that were part of Sea Hunt. I was a kid and I thought he was the wisest man I knew, besides my own dad.
Wake me up at Ohhh...6:30. LOL Gets me every time.
I do have a vague memory of Sea Hunt They might of been reruns I don't know, but I always admired Lloyd ever since then
Leslie Nielsen never liked the straight-laced roles he was forced into early in his career. He was a true comedic actor in his heart and soul.

Leslie guest-starred in an episode of the original S.W.A.T. series, as (of all things) a mafioso... he was clearly uncomfortable in that role 😑
He had never SCUBA dived before SeaHunt. All the underwater shirs were in a large pool.
Beau underrated. See him with Jeff in the Fabulous Baker Boys. Lloyd in Airplane: "And tell the milkman no more cheese!" lol
Yeah..Sea Hunt was a really big-deal for me. A must-see after school t.v. show. Lloyd Bridges could have run for any political office and easily won..that’s how much integrity he had..how strong a character he played on that show.
Beau, to me, will forever be the loving dad from The Wizard. I love that movie (the perfect film at the perfect time for me) and I love him in that role.

When I was growing up, a friend of mine had this old instructional record called Hear How to Skin dive, as performed by Sea Hunt's Lloyd Bridges. It's frickin hilarious.
I was a 90's kid, my age group loved him because of the Hot Shots movies.
It would have also would have been cool to mention Loyd's acting in the original Battlestar Galactica . His part helped the series out at the time . To me the series was going into jump the shark territory til he showed up .
I’ve GOT to watch Airplane again!
Too bad they didn't have a clip of Beau on Sea Hunt with his dad...

My introduction to Lloyd Bridges was via the infamous "Diamond Mortgage" ads that aired in Detroit, but I'm guessing Beau wouldn't want to talk about that.

Try The Rainmaker 😉 Lancaster and Hepburn !
It never occurred to me that the guy who picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue was "selling the idea of drugs" to anyone. Hell, the guy was so paranoid he thought an incoming airplane was coming for the tower and not the runway so he crashed through a window and fell to his death! Pretty lousy way to convince folks to sniff glue.😂
Your three minutes are up
So cringe to hear schmarmy Rich ask if the name of the boat was “Rawhide”. 🤦

Sea Hunt. However being a Film Noire fan, he played some pretty sketchy roles.
