There's another 7-second victory from 8:42 to 9:07, against [edit] WCM Lady_Nika. How do you beat someone in 7 seconds who has spent their whole life studying chess? I don't think I'm capable of grasping just how good Hikaru is at chess.

Well, chess is a game where the better player wins, or at least draws most times. It's a zero variance game. Bullet is chess but introduces a whole new skill - speed. So yes, it's not surprising when one of the top 3 bullet players in the world (and possibly ever considering how unpopular it was historically) can beat a GM in seconds. Hikaru beating Magnus in 7 seconds is far less likely but it is a format that rewards the fast. It's better to play a 7 second match with a 50% w/l record than 1 minute games with an 90% win record for this type of event. Hikaru might find it more challenging to catch Magnus or Daniel with tactics but that's generally how to win these games - attack and look for tactics.

It’s game because the king can either take the knight but then get checkmated when the queen captures the pawn and forces the king into mate by retreating to the only space he can move or black can move his queen away from the knight. Additionally, white can capture the pawn with the bishop protecting the knight and most likely forcing blacks queen to move again. That’s two pawns for free. White could then trade all his pieces off the board and have a two pawn advantage into the end game

As soon as he started thinking about his age and arguing about it, his performance fell off. If anything, it shows that it is all in his head. Eat healthy. No alcohol, no stimulants, no tobacco, or other drugs. Clean air, clean water. Get reasonable but not excessive exercise. Get good sleep...always, and you don't have to worry about age dragging you down until mid 40s. Well, to actually "eat healthy", you need regular blood work, so you have feedback and can make adjustments to keep everything in the "normal" category. For me. I needed to eat for minimal Advanced Glycation End-products, reduce my lead intake (no carrots, yams, rice, apple juice, pear juice, pea protein hemp protein, mustard greens, any grape products except grape seed extract, and chocolate. Carotenes are still important, so I added butternut squash), and I needed to increase my exercise, and get to bed on time. Fasting mimicking for 5 days at the same time as supplementing with fisetin, grape seed extract and quercetin can also recharge the brain. Fasting mimicking is eating 1/4 your normal calories and less than 10% of those calories, protein (you have to look up each food's macronutrients, and keep careful track of what you are eating). Your body thinks you went stupid and can't find food, and are eating lawn trimmings, so it gives it a bump. Details? IGF-1 gets down regulated, and autophagy and mitophagy recycle organelles, crummy cells are sacrificed to find protein to repair the rest and just carry on with normal processes. This gets rid of "senescent" cells which have run down their telomeres and are spitting out random proteins because the DNA strands have come apart at the ends, and all this gunk is causing inflammation tiring out the immune system and the immune system is often taking out innocent bystanders. Killing these crummy cells means things can get all cleaned up and closer to youthful conditions. It is after the diet, and IGF-1 is restored, that things get good. You were never meant to have reliable food every day. We did not get that when we were hunter-gatherers. We would go to where we knew the berry bushes would be full, and they weren't because some bears or other humans got there first and stripped them bare. Or the hunts came up empty. Any of a hundred things may have gone wrong. There is generally something to eat, but there is not much of it, and it is low protein. Our biology is waiting for this to happen to switch gears and go into this other mode, so it can get some repairs and maintenance done. Daily short fasts? No, that only works with mice. I do skip dinner, but that is to improve sleep quality.

Love all your videos... But Trump 2024. You don't have to reserve your use of logic for the chess board. ;)
