Really? Another Megalovania map? I know, I know...this song has been mapped to death, so why did I map it?
First of all, my daughter loves Undertale. We've been playing it together, and she managed to complete all the different playthroughs of the game. I was worried fighting Sans was going to ruin the experience for her, but she showed great patience and determination and she persevered. She loves all the music in Undertale, but Megalovania has a special place in her heart.
Second, I haven't found a version of Megalovania that felt like it was mapped for someone like me. The maps I looked into were either remixes of the song, heavy tech, or just crazy chaotic and insane. I know Sans/Megalovania is all about "having a bad time" and all, but the maps out there just weren't fun for me. So I wanted to make a high energy, low chaos map that would be accessible for the experienced but casual Expert+ player (and more).
The Expert downmap was surprisingly straightforward to make. I just simplified the patterns and cut back some of the speedier parts. I think it still flows nicely, but has some less intense angles than the Expert+ version.
