я так и не понял, что не устраивает. Возможно это перевод. Тут взбейте в значении смешайте. Главное, что по названию понятно, что в десерте есть сгущёнка и миндаль.

He helped me peel almonds and threw them into a plate. He really enjoyed this process.

I would also add that I love different types of chocolate and often buy it in the store. But this dessert differs from chocolate (or almond chocolate) from the store in taste, appearance, consistency.
