it gets harder the more players you have - I've found it's easier overall in single player

The game drew comparisons to Taito's Operation Thunderbolt, Sega's Line of Fire and SNK's own Mechanized Attack. ACE reacted positively to the game's horror theme and story, calling it Operation Wolf meets Splatterhouse.

Ahh, the Monster Monster Truck. One of my all-time favorite bosses.

This was a very difficult game for an early light gun shooter. There are enemies literally all over the screen attacking all at once, it is humanly impossible to shoot them all down precisely, and it's made even harder if your arcade operator can't be bothered to calibrate the guns to be precise As far as fast paced game goes, this is perhaps a bit too fast, constantly having to pick up more ammo while the whole screen is filled with enemies using hit scan weapons to instantly hit you. I guess it's why it's a 3 player game, only a perfectly coordinated play will keep everyone alive, this is definitely not a game you can solo without continues

One stands to question if the amount of enemies is contingent with the number of players....like a difficulty balance kinda thing.

That's usually how it works in arcade games with multiple players, but here is not the case. This kind of design is just standard practice of SNK back then, they simply focused on the profit aspect and made the game as unfair as possible in order to get players to continue feeding it credits. Since this was around the golden age of arcades, and games like these were of reasonably high production. Your average player would chalk up their losing streak as their own lack of skills, instead of knowing it's intentional sloppy game design on SNK's behalf in order to rein in more profit for the arcade operators

The only time I've ever seen this game was in an airport on my way to Spain. I thought I'd never see it again!

"The woman said destroy the fifth one. Then she died..." Um you guys shot her in the face like 50 times. I 'm surprised she lived long enough to say THAT much! LOL!

Ha, this is basically "Operation Wolf" with zombies. I remember playing it once since I was amused by the sight of zombies shooting guns.

Saw this at an old movie theater in Chehalis, Washington when I was a kid. I was like "oh look it's house of the dead for Super Nintendo." I would remember it every so often but I'm so glad I finally found it because for a long time, I thought this game literally didn't exist and that I dreamt it.

Back when I was a child, a local Mexican restaurant had a small arcade room, and beast busters was one of the few games in there.

Pumped a LOT of quarters into this one.

Sequel, "Beast Busters: Second Nightmare" is a true replica of HotD as it is 3D. However it's very rare as its platform, Neo-Geo 64, was cancelled and is very poorly emulated.

This isn't a Neo Geo game. If you can't get Neo Geo games to work on MAME, it might have something to do with having the wrong version of neogeo.zip for your version of MAME.

This game came out in 1989. Metal Slug's first game was in 1996. If anything Metal Slug took the laugh from Beast Busters.

I believe the sound emulation still isn't too great on that game, but I will try it after it improves.

SNK also brought out an arcade game just like this available through mame, forgot the name! It was a military theme instead. But it was nowhere good as this one!😎😎

First, I only have 2 AimTrak lightguns. The Sinden lightgun wasn't even around back when I made this video. For this video, all 3 players are using a mouse.

Can you REALLY blame the zombies for killing off anyone who goes in there? I mean, what do you think we living would do if someone (even a living person) came and started shooting everybody and everything in sight?
