    Excellent class! I found it so inspiring to learn how to use the delicate wire (26) to make a beaded chain instead of making loops on both ends of the bead and joining them together with jump rings! Such an eye opener! I also enjoyed learning about the different wire gages and what they are used for.

I started doing wire wrapping jewelry after my mother passed away. she had given me a pink stone, and I want to have it close to my heart, so I taught myself how to encapture this beautiful stone in wire, she had a flower shop and come to find out that it was just a stone that they put in the bottom of vases. but i will always cherish it.

    You are such good teachers in wire wrapping!! I’m 75 yrs.old, & I’m starting in wire wrapping. Watching you from Kalispell Montana! What is the best wire for making your own jump rings?? Do you have to use different sizes of wire for different sizes? I really love watching you doing tutorials ; you are the best! Thanks a billion!!

  • @beadaholique

    @beadaholique

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Carolita, glad to have you watching! For making your own jump rings I'd recommend looking at wires with a medium hardness. Non-tarnish brass is a good choice, as is sterling silver. Softer copper and base metal wires can work, but small handmade jump rings aren't so easy to work harden so it's usually best to use harder wires from the start. The most popular jump rings are 20 gauge and 18 gauge, so I'd look at wire in those sizes. There's no hard rule that says you have to use a certain gauge of wire for a certain diameter of jump ring, so feel to free to experiment there.
