I use a lightweight backpack with a 2 liter hydration pouch in it to carry ice water. No need to walk back to the vehicle for water. I usually fill it with ice then top off with cold water. I can feel the cold on my back and I don’t get dehydrated. It also allows me to carry a few items, like a spare battery for the pinpointer, sunscreen, energy bar, pain & allergy medication (yes, I’m old-ish), and maybe even a 🧁!

Thanks... this heat wave is almost done...thankfully.

I always like your videos because you dig and find targets quickly and proceed to the next target. Some of the metal detectors spend 15 minutes talking about one target when they could be finding so many more items. Also, your vlogs rest our eyes for a minute on the beautiful ocean 🌊 and the people and pets on the beach which are always a joy to see. Sorry it is so hot there. The smoke from the fires in Montana and Idaho are keeping me from opening my windows (no A.C. 😩) and it was 94 today. It has been over 90 deg. every day for four weeks. 🥵 102 deg. in L.A. sounds awful. Winter cannot come soon enough for me.

Nice hunt with the XP deus 2. I know it is new to you, but hopefully you will learn to like it :) Thanks again for taking us for a hunt along the beach, always fun and exciting :) I always take water with me hunting, even in the water. I lost my water bottle in the water once and I seen this kid find it, and dump the water on his head. I told him that was my water bottle, so he filled it back up with the lake water and handed it back to me lol

I got a good buddy I went to high school with that lives in Stockton just below Sacramento there and I was talking to him yesterday and he told me that it was 113° at his place so I mean that's just too hot to be out metal detecting I know I couldn't do it it would literally just wipe me out but then I'm 67 years old. and I got a heart condition so I can't be in that kind of heat anyway. It's just now starting to get really nice out here so that I can get back out and start metal detecting again. Have a safe journey when you head up north. Take care bill.

Great video. The early morning surf was breathtaking. I'm thinking that flat round thing is a flattened clad quarter. You can see the copper pressed into the other metal.

not bad for only a few hours at the beach. 6am is too early for me but its a good way to avoid some of the heat!

Heat is definitely a factor out there now. You could start building a tent stake sculpture. Turn it into art. Get a hot glue gun. Do a sculpture of Gary and sell it. Ha! When life gives you lemons...glue tent stakes. lol

Christine has a good recommendation... budget in mind the Vanquish has 3 levels and their website will allow you to compare them to see what features they have. If you think you will get serious about it the Nox also has a 600. Can you tell we really like Minelab!!! and we have nothing to do with them.

You should buy yourself a camel water pack I love using mine I put ice water and drink while on the go 😅

Deus 2 I am not keen on the tones it puts out but as much as that thing costs it probably makes the Equinox look bad.

I have found that cost does not equal better. To be honest, I will still take the NOX over the Deus. It is not winning me over so far.

Nice finds. I personally don’t care for those tent stakes though. They give all sorts of signals and move so easily through the sand as your trying to dig em out. Not a fan of them at all.

Not so nice to step on any of those if sharp side up! I see a lot of beer bottle caps, is alcohol allowed on California beaches? Bill, come on, you love buying those cupcakes for Christine!
