I've been to Cuba twice for a total of a month and really enjoyed it each time. Havana and Santiago are two of the safest cities in the world. It was the first time in my life I saw women strolling the streets at night often times by themselves with no fear. The Cuban people are absolutely wonderful.

@@milsedd yes absolutely because you got to live like an ordinary Cuban and believe it or not waiting for and using public transportation you got to actually meet and interact with every day Cubans 😄. All the time that I was in Cuba I never felt like a tourist. I was interested in the Cuban culture and the Cuban people. This is my opinion but if you just want to be a tourist and spend a few days or a week that is fine also but my plan was to return to Cuba and enroll in a Havana University but the coronavirus pandemic hit and I have not been able to return.

Just wondering: aside from the bus ride, what are the costs, if any, for things like the lounge chair you sat on, the Saoco (coconut drink)? Is that a public beach - do they charge for entry? I remember Santa Maria is very similar to Varadero Beach. Of course Santa Maria is only a showcase of Varadero. Guanabo beach is the one you mentioned further East. When I went there was building just like a Gym with lockers and you will pay for one to store your clothes. There were showers also. I do not know if that public beach still exist. There is also several other beaches in that area. Bacuranao is very deep and the water looks green. It is before Santa Maria. Due East is Matanzas, I like a secluded beach there when you exit Matanzas going to Varadero Beach. The beach is called “güeyvaquita” it is small beach secluded between high rocks. If you have been to Encinitas in San Diego, it looks like that. I do not know if I spelled it right “Gueyvaquita” Varadero is the ultimate experience ! How long did you stay in Cuba?
