Beach Fishing Tips - Rigs, Tips and Tactics for Plaice Fishing (Flatfish)
Ойын-сауық
Graeme heads to the coast for some Beach Fishing. He joins Tony Kirrage who gives you some tips on rigs and tactics for plaice fishing (flatfish) in spring. Now is a great time to catch plaice from the shore. Generally they like flashy rigs with bright beads and spoons. They are voracious feeders and very good fish to catch and cook. Be sure to check size limit regulations before keeping your catch! With a tough winter, the Beach Fishing in the UK should hopefully pick up now.

@Kameron Nelson Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
It always amazes me at how different the tackle and technique we use here in Africa is so different to you guys in the UK
Think this is one of your best features. Loved the advice, filming and scenery. more like this please
This the best show on KZread very detailed and TOTALLY AWESOME!!!
Thanks Graeme, sea fishing videos always interest me. Nice to see Tony down there. Cheers guys.
Thank you- different techniques from a boat, pier and the beach- I still have a lot to learn.
I really want a competition between Graeme and another youtuber, maybe multiple and turn into a series
Are you with me? great to see Tony Kirrage back on TAFishing.
Hi Graeme, many thanks for great beach fishing session, also thanks to Tony for tuition on the clip down rigs, good camera work, could see every detail of rigs and how they work with the slow motion demo.
Nice video . The old guys show how it's done . I'm an old guy too btw . Got me interested in sea fishing again after many years thank you .

Another great TAF video, I'm delighted the new season has finally started and Graeme looks better after his chest infection (I think quite a few of us had that!) Roll on Black Bream and Smoothounds!!

Hi Graeme . Thanks for all the vids , have had time to go through so many of your older ones. I have figured out I can tell how old it is by counting the yellow stripes on your favorite chair. Repair, adapt, and move on. top man, brilliant show. many thanks
Thanks Graeme most enjoyable 🖒
Thanks for the help! I am going to fish today in Pevensey and 9/10 times I don’t catch anything but I’m going to give this a shot!

Beautiful _Fishing_ Congratulations Fisherman!👍🐠🐟..
That looks like fun
Beach fishing is the best
Variety is the spice of life, and beach fishing is that variety! Oh, are there any TA videos on tips for catching trout in hot weather? Here in Texas, the TXPWD stocks loads of rainbows into lakes and ponds all over the state, but because it's Texas, it's ALWAYS hot. Any advice is appreciated! Great video, as always! Cheers!

Great fishing friend, like it & happy to support you. Thanks for share this video.
Always look forward to your Friday video, when are the BBC going to give you and Mike your own program. You both have so much knowledge to impart, perhaps you have a bit more Graeme seeing your that much older!!!
Yes beach fishing at last . Graham head on down to the blocks in southsea fishing very well . the fish are heading back at long last
Thumbs up!!! Clark and Virginia
legend
You should try an Alvey sidecast reel from Australia. . Absolutely bulletproof reel and long casting.
Would love to see some up close pictures of the rigs and parts used
Thank you for the awesome videos TA. What's the song at the end of this video that's awesome too!?
Wish I’d know when you were down eastbourne it’s my local fishing point. Would love to have met graham and fished with u.
great to see you on the beach again. I hope you told Tony off for moaning about the colour of the sea that he lives so close to ;-)
Do a video on fishing River Thames in Central London
Nice video and some good tips too! Question: what is the type of weight or sinker you showed early in the video? Looks like a spider legs? Can’t say I’ve seen one like that on this side of the pond.

They are called grip leads.They trip free when you retrieve,but help keep your bait anchored in stronger tidal flows.
Do you Fishermen feed the areas before ? Or 30mins before you start ? Here in Sweden there are some that does that just with a feeder chopped down sandworms and groundbait fishbits and all other goodies and nasties ! Im going for a 3week fishing session on the west coast of Sweden to break some pb:s . Denmark stock breed the Rödspättan/flounder and release in the seas thats something . Perhaps their so small ? Or just overfished waters that happends on lots of places on the world .
We need a shirt that says “keep calm and watch TA Fishing” lol but really, this is where I come for relaxing! Keep up the good work
Cool
That's the secret for a slow day. One, or twenty, last casts. At least that seems to work for me lol. Cheers!
Great video. I see Tony is now recommending Ultra 8 in 24lb instead of Nanofil in 15lb, is there much difference and if so what are the added benefits? Also what tapered leader does he recommend? Thanks and keep up the great vids!

Best to call him up,I personally haven't a clue what the difference is.
Anychance of some more reservior fly fishing videos fellas ? , keep up the good work.
With braided line use a mono shock leader 80lb
How ye lads anto from Ireland do u boys not do the online magazine anymore where can I get a hold of ur tafishing stickers need to pimp up me box

How do the clips release when in the water
If you fishing off a boat over a wreck what size lead would you use with a French boom and a lure ?
@TAOutdoors
6 жыл бұрын
Depends of the depth you are in and the speed of your drift. Your skipper should tell you what size to use in whatever conditions prevail.
yes tony blue is the colour mate ktbffh
Graeme, please excuse my ignorance, but why is your stand so far from the water? I guessing that it is due to the tide going out ?
@TAOutdoors
6 жыл бұрын
Was probably on the ebb (way out)
Dang!
Grew up with Multiplier reals in UK, when I emigrated to BC Canada, because of the very large salmon and Steelhead on rivers like the Thompson, you won’t get away with a Spinning Reel, the fish will just rip. The bail arm off. Also reeling in a 35Lb + Salmon through heavy water is no fun.
Tony should do voice overs for London gangster movies
Im curantly fishing for place right now

currently and plaice, good luck
Can I ask why do you set the fishiing stand so far back from the water
@TAFishing
5 жыл бұрын
To allow for the tide to come in ? Then I don't have to keep moving every few minutes.
I saw you at pondwood fisheries

Got 5 carp the first afternoon to about 11,them following afternoon I tried the Catfish lake.. Managed three,one gave me a hewlluva scrap.
You don't want to loosing too many rigs like this how much does they set up cost.
Ha! Tony's more salt than pepper these days!
What are the benefits of using a multiplier for this type of fishing?
@TAFishing
6 жыл бұрын
None that I can think of...a fixed spool or spinning reel can do the same job. Its what happens at the other end of the line that is the important bit. Rigs and bait.
@deanwatt

Fair enough, I thought I was missing something. Much easier with a spin reel!
A lesson on how to unhook deep hooked fish would be good .Im always having trouble.

Charlie Monga22 if you're bait fishing and waiting for a bute would recommend using circle hooks they always srt themselves and are rarely swollen.
@masterbeethoven8209

@@Moe572 Not always. I've had about 10 whiting in the last week that have been deep hooked on 4/0 circles.
Do I need a license to sea fish ? In england
I am living in the united States. what rod stand are you using?
@TAFishing
6 жыл бұрын
The tripod I use is made by Storm..really cheap..but you can get more expensive stands but they do the same thing...hold the rods !..so I use the cheapest I can find.
Great clip one suggestion. could you warn me when Tony comes on. He's wearing a certain T shirt of a certain football club. I had to wash my eyes out with fairy liquid. tippy toppy clip

👏👏👍👍
Small on fish. Large on information. And I could almost feel the warmth at that beach here: all the way across the Atlantic.
Well Tony could put a sign on his shop "Gone Fishing " problem solved
I'd love to know, what football team does Tony support? He looks like an Arsenal man.

I think he's Chelsea.
Location?
Flounder is to day an expensive fish to buy, same as plaice. When I was a young boy it was he food for the poor working people, so I was eating them a lot (smile)
where can i get a rig tony has?
@flamintasty
Жыл бұрын
Make them yourself. If you can’t or don’t want to, contact Tony’s Tackle in Eastbourne.
tony needs to sort that website out
I camped on that beach last Saturday! Check out the video "beach boys wild camp" thanks for sharing 👍
I thought tony had a nasty stain on his shirt just realised it said chelsea still a stain
Sea fishing from accessible places is largely a waste of time and money to the casual angler . These guys have skills and knowledge over and above most anglers . Even they only manage poor quality fish despite advanced techniques and gear .
First
Shame Tony has to keep referring to match anglers as the best. He really needs to keep pushing the whole elite sales model. Shame because aside from that I found him to be a top bloke.
@TAOutdoors

I think its like freshwater match anglers ,the match competitions demand constant innovations and rig ideas. Many of the top techniques in both sea and fresh come from the match scene..That would be my take on it anyway. I know I always listen to whatever the match guys have to say,especially when it comes to bait and feed.
