This has always happened... "Don't build your house upon the sand."
and this was a little pissy storm. They better pray they don't get hit with a hurricane of any strength. Cat4-5, good bye Galveston/Bolivar Penn..sad, but it's happening all over the world.
Does mangroves are able to grow there?

Full of sediment from the Mississippi to be exact. Can't do much about it but put oysters in the bay.

It's actually caused by the currents that bring up sand, just not enough in the right place.
