Be Free!! Wild Mustangs Released To Engler Canyon Ranch

Фильм және анимация

The day has arrived! After spending years living in dirt holding pens, these wild born Mustangs are finally free! Watch their first steps into a new life at Engler Canyon Ranch. This 22,000-acre sanctuary is now home to 100 wild born mustangs and four wild-born burros! They will live out their days roaming, grazing and socializing as they wish. Many thanks go to the Serengeti Foundation for making another release possible! If you'd like to help support the cause, please visit www.theserengetifoundation.com or www.serengetiusa.com. *Note - this is NOT a long-term pasture site used by the BLM. This is a privately owned sanctuary, purchased by a registered non-profit group (Serengeti Foundation) and 100% of the costs are on us. Thank you for the support!! More videos to come :D

What they want is to keep the horse population in balance with the environmental resources which they easily overrun. It's a difficult problem since horses are very adaptable. Investigate the Brumby horses of Australia to see how destructive over population is to where all the horses suffer thirst and starvation and slow death because of their numbers. No one wants to get rid of these wild and feral horses except cattlemen wanting the take those resources for their cattle. Blame them and all the people who buy and consume beef.

I'm glad they're free again but there's really not that much skin left with all that branding

I believe the branding is such that the hair simply grows white. It's not scar tissue. Not sure what the method is.

Nice but cruel to place numbers on horses by burning their skin. We are not in the wild west anymore. 😠😠

Those are freeze brands, virtually painless to the horse. So ya, we are not in the wild west anymore.

The BLM does it to mark the horses as U.S. BLM property, no owner can change it. It's also a freeze brand, it just kills the hair on it to make the mark and doesn't hurt them.

Rick Bradley freezing isn't painless. and these horses have it really all over them. does it really have to be that much of this brending? or just BLM don't give a crap about horses, as ususlly?

Been around horses all my life ... these are "not" mustangs. Most likely a ramuda being relocated to new pasture or from winter to summer pasture.
