Wow! Gary V brings the heat again! I'm not blowing smoke, this man literally changed my life. He challenged me to stop bullshitting myself and to act on my dreams. Plain and simple. I was cheating myself, my family and probably my former employer and their clients because my heart was no longer in it. So, I left my cushy six figure insurance job to start my own company. It's been a tough, but exciting first year. What Gary says rings true..only the market can determine if you're putting one in the W or L column. Hustle truly is the most important word ever and I'm fulfilling his challenge to not do shit that I hate. Everyone needs the honest self-analysis and self awareness that Gary speaks of. His grit, humility and authenticity are inspirational. Thank you, Gary for all that you have done. I appreciate you!

The honesty to say "I'm average", but the tenacity to not let that keep you from pushing to the next level. That's where self-awareness becomes its own motivation. Projecting and wanting my 80-year-old-self to regret as little as possible. Thanks G-Vee!

Interesting, I wondered when Gary would get tired or impatient with his content. I also noticed toward the end of the day, he feeds off the energy of others; he's most alive when he's giving and helping people out. I feel the same way, it's part of the reason I get so depressed when I don't have something on the horizon where I'm giving back or speaking at a gala (which makes me question what it is I actually love doing in life). Like the guy at the end, I have a ton of identity questions and wouldn't even know where to begin. Sometimes, your questions like "Where do you really want to be in 5 years?" or "What drives you?" help me confront who I am behind all the BS I have going and help me to look inside and figure out who I am and what I really want.

So many nuggets in this ep. I struggle trying to help my clients try and figure out what they want every day and guess what you're right. We can't really help them. That's the one thing they need to do on their own by being HONEST with themselves. Also love the part about "too much motivation, not enough execution" Nailed that one... Love it... ❤️

Man do I get 😂 teary-emotional while watching dailyvee! I love your honesty Gary, when you say "I just don't know how to help someone to understand what they want" I think one big aspect in this is that at some point in our education within our family or school we somehow get the idea that we need to choose one profession and it will stick with us for the rest of our life. But things CHANGE, it's not just with entrepreneurs, LIFE shows that things are bound to CHANGE at some point, today you are an engineer and tomorrow the country falls apart and you need to scramble to find something else to do, so you move to a different country and start cleaning floors than move up. That's the strength of immigrants. Self awareness is mental strength, Im 100% sure that's what Gary got from his family. I think to know yourself and to know what you want, you need to look at life on a universal/big picture scale, its not just about your 1 profession, 1 project, 1 app to develop, your dream of a certain amount of money, your this and that identity. ITS ALL ABOUT LIFE AS A WHOLE, then you'll start taking care of your body and your mind, and THATS when you'll just DO. (Sorry for the long rumble everyone).

That thing about being a number 4 but trying to be the founder/ceo/whatever is real. I just had this talk with my producing partner the other day; it's gotten me really down that I'm not very good at sales and I'm more passionate about other people's ideas than my own, but I'm starting to realize that's a good thing. I want to work hard for someone else that I believe in their vision, a vision that I can see and break down myself. That gets me going so much more than being an entrepreneur myself.

I'm working, I'm hustling, and we are hiring our 12,13,14the employees right now with a 15th coming in for a first interview tomorrow. We are building without the outside capital and we are at the point where they expect us to 'grow up' and get a business plan. I know they are right at one level, but growing 50-100% year over year for the last 6, it's hard to level the growth long enough to develop a formal plan. We are dominating our space and don't want to lose the momentum. How do I justify stopping the hustle to make the outsiders happy and willing to take us 'seriously'

I truly respect the comments you make at the 5:20 mark. You mention that the larger the company the less appetite that company has for someone who has more entrepreneurial tendencies. And it's so true, your comment brought much clarity and naturally confirmed fir me in retrospect why I left my career in commercial banking - corporate America. Left a solid career bc I just wasn't fulfilled. And that's why I quit two months ago and have no intention on looking back. I'm all in doubling down on myself my skills. I am focused on building my company for me.

The process to figuring out what I want to do was to look back at what I have been through because there was something in there that changed me in a certain way. Without that change I wouldn't be me. The fact that someone is searching for what they want is a good indicator that there was a change in that person because they are unhappy with what they are doing now. Now they just need to embrace it and start living that change (aka being honest/comfortable with yourself). Thanks Gary and thanks DRock for sick filmmaking (and you too other tyler for edits).

8:40 I have a technic for that. First I divide paper in 2 sides. Left positive right negative. I write down all that I dont want or have negative feeling about it. Then I go on and just write all opposite to that on the left side. We as humans are more likely to know what we dont want because of years and years of negativity we are surrounded so it grows in our selfs so it become rly hard to focus on what we rly deep inside want... so only way I found it is to trick ourself by doing it as I described it at beginning... good luck

Gary, I don't watch your content for motivation. I watch it to nourish my strong mindset to take action every single day. I didn't grow up in a family or community that instilled in me the drive to go beyond the average American lifestyle. Most around me today work the 8-5 and go home to get drunk or play video games (and that's really sad). Through your content, and others on social media my mindset and perception of life has been blown the f*ck up! It's brilliant, and amazes me how much one can change so deeply in just one year. I don't know if I'll be as rich as you, or even the top 1% but I damn well am going to try my absolute fu*king hardest, and enjoy every minute of it. Keep doing your thing. Keep business boomin. All the best man.

What about if you don't "feel like" working that minute but you still think you should and deep down also want to work? Push trough anyway, or go in the clouds and think about your "why/how" and recalibrate?

I agree that if you own your own company you are a CEO and entrepreneur and that is a huge responsibility. I don't like the reference to everyone else being a #2, #3 or #4. I get it, not everyone can start and run a company. But that company will falter without a strong cohesive and interdependent team. It reminds me that HR is often referred to as a "back office" function when in fact it is absolutely one of the foundations on which great organizations are built. I also believe if the company fails because the CEO walks away from it, that CEO has failed to ensure the longevity of the business. Nothing should rise or fall on one person.

such a great video. loved when you stopped with the guy and said you didn't low the answer to his question. honesty is my number one principle in my house and its so important. Also I think it's a great truth to remind people that there is no amount of ra ra that can make a person just go do the work. execution is everything

The intro - I don’t know either. Friends/family/coWorkers - most of my energy tend to plant seeds which need lots and lots of watering . I won’t resent others for needing more. I’ll be here supplying the demand because it’s overflowing regardless of anyone is around to soak it up. **that 👆

The one answer that's not in Gary's book... how to gain self awareness. I wonder if D-rock has any insight into this after following Gary for almost a year. I feel like a good way to start is watching this series and picking up on some of Gary's habits and interactions and thoughts. Keep up the good work guys. It's definitely bringing value to so many people.

Gary. I can see in these last months you are a little bit exhausted for producing so much content. We don't need motivation speeches from you to get motivated. Don't worry about that. Just watching your day as a CEO is motivating and educating enough. Just document and that's all we need.
