This is a song about Scottish independence, featuring a cameo by David Bowie. It explains our reasons for supporting independence, one of the most significant of which is how it can empower people to work for each other, as well as for themselves, investing their talents and efforts into creating a prosperous present and an optimistic future for all in Scotland.

Well, first they greeted me...
Then deleted me.
From their depressing Facebook page.

To be a nation, Scotland's voice.
Forgive me, for I thought that we were a
Peaceful, fair democracy.
But I'm finding out
Scots' votes never count.
All we get's hypocrisy.
If you don't think it's that bad, sadly
Maybe we have been deceived.
If you're a democrat
Vote forever that
Scottish hopes can be achieved.
We give more than we get out and we
Scratch our heads at what we hear:
Every penny
Of oil money
London has made disappear.
A comfortable rut is what we're living in,
1 in 5 child poverty,
Where poor and needy
Feed the greedy,
Be the change you wish to see.
Ah, well maybe you're right, I'm wrong to think about
All of the days that went before:
Acts of Union,
Our communion
Left those Scots of old so sore.
Make history and don't ignore...

And so clearly,
Friendship this is not the end.
But September, I'll be gladly voting Yes.
I know in my heart of hearts:
If we don't do it then
We'll regret it when

As a person born in England but proud of his Scottish family and heritage...I would vote YES! Scotland would and will be better away from the Union and away from Westminster. Scotland has been used by England for too long. Good luck to the Yes campaigners. Right behind you and oh so proud of you all.

Sadly,did not hear this till after referendum, but not so sadly this has been up there with Callum Baird, Gerry Cinnamon, Bobby Gillespie, Stanley Odd and of course Jock Scot and Ninja Penguin, oh aye and Lady Alba in keeping oor spirits up.

Brilliant song. Can't understand why I let this gem pass me by during the campaign. I've favourited for future reference. Looking increasingly like we might need it again soon. Or perhaps an updated version? ;)

another good song in the yes campaign, along with Stanley Odd "son i voted yes" and the Proclaimers "cap in hand. Its a shame all these songs are banned from the radio, If all these songs were given air time , the No voters would hear the truth in the lyrics. Once again control from Westminster ,come on SCOTLAND BE A NATION AGAIN !!!!
