Tips from me... 1. Think that you are controlling the whole room while presenting... 2. Know that everybody else have to present as well and they are nervous too... 3. Just know that your speech is going to end soon and it will be over and then you will be free... 4. Focus or look on one person at a time especially look at someone who is not paying attention to you.... *hope they work for you cuz they work for me* *goodluck*

I have a lifechanging tip if you have this fear: Don't just "get through" a speech. Be the light that inspires your crowd, you have the chance to really CHANGE a group. If it helps, talk about your feelings from the start to make you feel less like you are hiding, but breathe in confidence. Nearly every person in this crowd is afraid to get up there, and you went far enough to actually do it. Fears are only challenges for us to conquer, not chains to hold us back. Always stand up for what you believe in. Even if no one sides with that opinion, your energy alone will inspire someone. Changing your perspective on public speaking will transform the fear into strength. Mediation is VERY helpful too.

Yes! The best way to present a speech is to make/plan a speech so interesting that you are excited to tell people about it. Aside from that, as someone who is fond of public speaking, I recommend to speak freely and to state more examples (preferably common) than terms in order for the audience to relate more.

I go like bright red when I present. It’s not even a cute blush, my forehead, nose, cheeks and sometimes neck go crimson red too. It’s not that I’m scared, it’s that I’m embarrassed of going red. I would happily be a public speaker if I didn’t go red. I can’t even stop it, my face gets clammy, then I think about how red my face must be and then that’s all I can think about. People don’t understand how good they’ve got it, it affects everything in my life. I can’t go to the gym because my face goes too red, I am an athlete and when I’m done a race all the other swimmers are pale and I’m scarlet. Whenever I talk to someone new who I don’t know, or someone I think is cute I go red. Whenever I talk to a teacher I go red. One time a doctor was asking about my symptoms and I went red. Job interviews, uni interviews, meetings, you name it I’m red. Not to mention drinking alcohol and doing you know what. I’m siiiiick of it. Doctors need to come up with a cure asap

@@ZMYandZYR_ @ayaka2550 same.. I am long out of school but school was a nightmare. I remember having strong physical reactions, having black out moments.. I started to drink alcohol before presentations for a while.. Once I took too much. 🤮. Now I work and I don't need to have bigger presentations yet, but I am still struggling with talking in meetings .. I wish there was something we could use. One remedy would be win in lottery ticket and live alone in the forest. xD

@@ayaka2550same thing happened to me every now and then a while ago. I’ve watched many videos and understand a lot about it. I can assure you that what helped me basically never go red again was just accepting it. I know it sounds counter intuitive but it fixes the problem completely. Just accept it when you go red, don’t try to hide it. If it happens, just accept it and if anyone asks just make a joke about it or make it less awkward somehow. Then it will slowly start to go away every single time you DO NOT hide it!

I used to suffer from public speaking anxiety A LOT, beacuse I didn't get the cause of it. I tried all sorts of techniques and strategies, but it all turned out to be useless. Then I understood (thanks to a few video that brought me to my personal conclusion) that at the root of that gigantic fear was low self-confidence. Indeed, the fear exists beacuse especially nowdays, with social medias that make us confront with others, we tend value too much what other people think about us, instead of caring what we actually want and what makes us feel good. Therefore, my personal advice would be to start putting more value on yourselves, by repeating out loud positive affirmations and start working on whatever you feel affects you to the point that you feel bad. Another advice would be that whenever you feel you're giving too much importance to someone's opinion, acknowledge that you're giving value to what someone that judges you for no reason at all thinks, so he/she is not your friend nor anyone you should care about, and back yourself up. This would be my advice, I hope it helps some of you. Have a great day.

Preparation is CRUCIAL everyone. I consider myself an introvert, I don't talk much in front of people but I always get pretty good marks in public speaking. Do your preparation like you are going to perform your one-of-a-life-time presentation. Repeatedly rehearsals will also give you the confidence and reveal the shortcomings in your work, then you can adjust it.

If you can't get a private session all I can say is rather try your best (as cliché as it sounds ik) or take the hit and say you forgot / didn't do it. The way I got past mine was just going along with it I never looked up in the process because I would get quite and extremely anxious didn't help that I'm stereotyped as the quiet kid and people kept saying speak up. Preparing is honestly the way forward. I get a mad stutter when I get nervous which made me embarrassed and ended up in a vicious cycle. I just got more and more nervous and embarrassed. So, I did the most ridiculous thing to me at the time, and I would speak to myself. Quite often. Weird I know. But it worked. I was so confident. Bordering cocky sometimes lol. Such a difference it made when I could voice myself. What helped for me was thinking I was better than anyone else, even my professor. I clearly wasn’t, in so many aspects, but for some reason it helped so much. Hope this could help anyone

I’m currently taking a required speech class (due to a program I’m in) as a high school student with extremely bad anxiety, and our teacher is making us do impromptu speeches every class for the next six classes. We get five minutes to come up with a one minute speech about a specific topic/question she presents on the screen. Today was the first one we had to do, and the paper was shaking so bad in my hands that you could hear it rattling and I was even having trouble reading the words. It’s extra frustrating because the teacher doesn’t even give us any time to prepare for our speech. I don’t know what to do, I have my next speech class in two days and every time I even think about presenting again, I feel like I’m going to cry. I want to talk to my teacher, or even the school counselor, about it, but I feel like they wouldn’t be able to do anything or help at all, and I’m worried my teacher may even get frustrated at me because the whole point of speech class is to get better at public speaking. I also think that’s kind of dumb, though, because as someone who’s had horrible anxiety since childhood (and may have an anxiety disorder) presenting in front of the class isn’t going to help. All it’s going to do is make things worse. If presenting did help me get over my fear, I would be over it by now, because I’ve given my fair share of speeches. Anyways, sorry for rambling on, does anybody have any tips?

+Kristina Halsnes Oh wow. I hope that it gets better with time. I was a bit shy when I went to high school but now in university I can make a 2 hour presentation very comfortably, and I hope that it will be your case soon. You can try by presenting to your family or friends about topics that you are familiar with and than make it increasingly more uncomfortable. Anyhow I wish you can get better at this because I know how you feel.

The place where I'm in school right now isn't even where I live, i live on the other side of the earth.... So i really miss my home and i don't know how to keep my tears back while presenting...

Jon White This is the video about being a better public speaker, isn't it? And yes, I've seen tons of public speakers both in real life, online, television, radio, etc. Why would I have to set up video on public speaking? I came here because I know my weakness, I need something, some advice to make me a better public speaker. If anything, this video can't really convince me that it's a right advice for being a better public speaker because the way the narrator speak is too hyperbolic, not to mention painful and cheesy.
