Hi! I'm Harry Soo, a Grand Champion pitmaster from in Diamond Bar, near Los Angeles. Welcome to my vlogs, BBQ product reviews, travel & lifestyle videos, BBQ contests, classes, as well as interviews and stories.
On weekdays, I'm an IT nerd living a Dilbertesque existence in a fabric covered cubicle in downtown LA. I'm the head tour guide for a team of IT project managers who build datacenters, networks, servers, and infrastructure that helps bring tap water to 300 cities and 20 million residents in SoCal.
On weekends, I come alive as a pitmaster, competitor, and BBQ instructor. You've seen me on BBQ Pitmasters, Food Network, Chopped Grill Masters, Smoked, Cutthroat Kitchen, and local TV in California. My shtick is I've used a humble 18-inch Weber Smokey Mountain smoker to win 100+ first places and 1st place USA in the Kansas City BBQ Society (KCBS) awards including best chicken, brisket, and sirloin; and I've won over 30 Grand Championships. I've personally taught 250+ classes and trained 4,000+ pitmasters in small hands-on dozen student classes in the US, Sydney, Perth, London, Kuala Lumpur, Ireland, Germany, Mexico, Canada, and Hawaii.
I get many questions weekly about how to grill and barbecue. Since I started cooking professionally in 2008, I've answered thousands via email, so I decided to post my answers via video to reach a wider audience. I'll do my best to post a video on my channel periodically. I upload vlogs, BBQ product reviews, travel & lifestyle videos, BBQ contests, classes, as well as interviews and stories.

I stopped by there one year and saw those pits. You may say they are kinda pricey but when figure you are going to use it all your life and hand it down to your kids it's worth it. Those pits and smoker are extremely well built.

The pit performance is amazing as David tunes each pit before delivery via a proprietary method of special plates so each pit is hold temps like a pro. Each pit is tuned by the master pit whisperer. If I had room in my small SoCal home, I'd get one of his 60 inch models.

Thanks For showing all the cool BBQ's that David has built. I built the wooden BBQ, for my old neighbor as a thank you to David for hosting him and talking BBQ. I have been wondering for a lot of years, what David did with it and the pig. We shipped it to Texas, from Bellingham Washington. It was suppose to only be a 24" BBQ birdhouse, but I got carried away. It was fun to make, since I had to look online and figure out David's design.

It will take me a while to build it. That one took me about a month to build, working every day on it. I will post it once it is done.

Soo Sifu: A great coming week to you, Ms. Donna, Mr. David and Ms. Carla! Thank you for taking us along to visit Klose Barbeques! I am amazed at the type of barbecue pits they are able to custom build for their customers. With the thickness on their barbeque pits, I can imagine the amount of heat it will retain for slow-cooking a large amount of briskets, and the efficiency in fuel-management. They were really nice to show some Texas hospitality with a barbecue in their custom “Bling-Bling” smoker for you and Ms. Donna! Keep up the great work on the videos! Best wishes to you, Ms. Donna and family, furry ones, also! Much Aloha, Sifu! 🧧🤙🥩🌭🍔🍗
