I spray painted my upvc over 5 years ago still looks amazing.

The real rogue trader is whoever quoted 1200 to replace the UPVC cladding

Still running just moved to fylde coast even has same logo on van

You should never use a pressure washer on your roof, it shortens the life of the tiles by blasting off the grit built into the tiles, same as block paving, it just blasts all the sand out and have to be refilled.

@@xxshadow-_-gamerxx1932 you obviously have never done it and have no understanding of building, the sand is compressed between and under the blocks, you blast it out it will never be the same, blocks will move, if anyone does it they will see a river of sand not water, certain roof tiles, Marley for example, have a grit on the outside ffto protect the tile and enhance its life, you would be removing this, also you should never scrub them, hopefully you aren’t a builder.

Hypochlorite and a light pressure wash followed by kiln dried sand is exactly how you clean block paving and the same applies to roof tiles.

You actually can paint UPVC we spray them all the time but you need to use UPVC paint lol

We had a guy who would sweep with one hand and have his phone in the other, he didn’t last very long.

As someone in the trade, I watched this with absolute horror. If I saw any of my lads doing that well for starters they wouldn't pass their probation to be able to do this but secondly I would put them on stop immediately, have em come in to see the Compliance SEO who I have rightfully nicknamed The Enforcer, as she is my attack dog and it'd be 'give us your uniform, phone and your van keys and fuck off mate we're not even going to discuss this' Good god.

Crikey how many times do people ask this question, every episode there is someone, I’m surprised everybody in the world doesn’t know the answer, he claimed housing benefit when he was working, big deal, obviously not the brightest being on TV while claiming, if he did it now he would just have to pay the money back, it’s so common they hardly charge anyone, especially the small amount he was charged with. Must be 15/16 years ago.

Barry hasn’t got a clue. you can pressure wash a roof. Surface cleaner is safest and least messy way. you can put chemicals through a pressure washer, just to clarify. 🤦‍♂️

You totally CAN get upvc painted as long as you use professionals using the correct materials. Preparation is 95% of the job. What the hell do builders know anyway

I coat all my roof tiles with canestan, and then sprinkle on some talc for extra protection against dampness

Never jet wash your roof, it blasts the waterproof coating from the tiles. Brush/scrape it off.

In reality you could use a jet wash for antifungicidal spray. Using the soap part and putting it on very low spray setting.

As someone who is in the exterior cleaning business and never had an unhappy customer I can professionally say: Roofs should not be washed by full power pressure washing. The safe way of it being done if using water to wash is by a small rotary cleaner to disperse the pressure over a larger surface area and from top to bottom row by row. We prefer to dry scrape as it negates and possible water ingress from damaged roofs prior to our arrival. Biocidal treatment works and very well if done to the instructions provided, oh and actually applied. 🤷‍♂️ The driveway 'wash' is a joke and realistically no professional outfit should be using a domestic level pressure washer. It never creates the same results as professional kit. The gutters are a joke, sure a small amount of debris may come down after the clean, but, nothing to that level. The one thing they got wrong here is pressure washer not being able to apply the treatment on the roof. They absolutely can just most tradesmen would up for a hand sprayer motorised sprayer. That mud staining on the second job is a joke, not a funny one. The lack of use of a rotaty cleaner has caused that and a huge field of debris all over the garden.

Give him his deu the young boy did clean the roof but i dont think he was part of the scam, just doing as he was told

Of course he was, he lied he had treated the roof with anti fungal, he said he had sprayed the weeds which were still growing, he said there were rotten batons by the chimney and they would replace them, they weren’t rotten and they didn’t replace them, replace broken tiles, he said it all, if anything he was worse than the other fella, please don’t get any work from people who knock your door George.

This was 10 years ago. These type of cowboy traders are everywhere now. The pub behind where I live had the car park redone a few weeks ago 😂 the worst job I've ever seen. The pot holes have returned already 😂😂😂
