    Ya maybe one day she will get thru a meet without falling off an event as i have never seen her NOT fall off an event at a meet ribbon or no ribbon.... Snooze. Never mind a bobble GF cant even ever stay on. I miss the old days, ya know where98% of the time up until 2017 they all used to stay on? Now it is 50/50. What a nosedive everyone in the entire sport is currently. Not to mention the form, no choreo, dance, details, etc. The gymnasts today are NOTHING compare to the girls of yesterday. Not even close and many of us have noticed it in the last few years and it is getting worse. You go on your rants about gorgeous gymnasts and enjoy their mediocre routines. I'll pass and watch old youtube video's from 1980 thru about 2017 when the sport was still watchable. I only watched about 5 girls routines from this worlds and that was enough. So sad what has become of the once great sport. What a mess and lackluster routines. But ya know ya can't criticize anything or anyone in the sport these days so it will only get worse. I"m out.

    @@JB-sg1vy @J B I totally agree with you. Maybe the technical level required is too high? Too many difficult jumps, turns, difficult combinations... I'm always very excited to see a new competition but I'm often disappointed because there are too many mistakes everywhere! And that in all the apparatuses except the bars. It's even unpleasant to watch sometimes. I prefer to see less difficult routines but much more beautiful and elegant to watch. And I think that the gymnasts of the previous eras were more aggressive and concentrated on the apparatus. Sorry for my English.

    Can't believe a damn ribbon cost Skye a medal 😩 I've never really understood why a lot of US gymnasts wear them in their hair, if they come loose it's a recipe for disaster like today. Such a shame, she would've gotten a 14.300 otherwise which is a phenomenal score. That said, I'm so happy for both the Japanese gymnasts AND Ellie. That was always the contest and will always be. That's why it is called Balance Beam. You do everything without falling from the beam. What a shame. Some gymnast just can't balance and stay on the beam, so they fall and lose scores. It seems that you are shaming those girls who won and stayed on the beam. So, you may make a contest on who has the most difficulty and not care on how they might fall executing those difficult moves. This sport is about luck, IQ and determination. The Japanese and that one Canadian are smart enough to choose difficulty they could execute with all their nerves wrecking. So they won.

    The Chinese coaches need to seriously re-assess their beam routine compositions. They rely too much on connecting elements together for CV and SB which is difficult and risky and any minor break can lose the connection anyway. The execution deduction for slow connections often cancels out the CV or SB as well. The current style works sometimes (e.g. Tokyo Olympics beam final) but often doesn't pay off. Chinese also don't go for easier high value skills like the triple wolf turn (which Ou does very well on floor and is worth E, same as the switch ring leap but much safer). The most beautiful routine compositions just don't always win medals

  • @wkim22

    The Chinese beam is perfectly constructed. High difficulty, great elegance and artistry. Being consistent on beam is a different story. They need to work on their floor and vault instead.

  • @poshbo

    @poshbo

    Жыл бұрын

    @@wkim22 how but the high risk makes consistency difficult to achieve. The Chinese are overall not consistent on beam, they had so many falls this year, Luo Rui also didn't hit in last year's WC, they also had numerous falls in the 2019 WC as well (Liu Tingting and Li Shijia both struggled on beam and cost a team medal). Ou Yushan, Tang Xijing and Lu Yufei also struggled on beam in the Tokyo Olympics and cost the team a team medal (Guan Chenchen was the only one who hit all routines). It's not been a good track record overall, the Chinese team has missed the team podium at the 2020 Olympics, 2019 and 2022 WCs and struggled on beam at all those meets. The US team has been much more consistent on beam than China, even if their routines look less elegant and have won team medals at all those same meets. And yes, vault is a big weakness, they all need at least a DTY to be competitive. Re floor they can tweak their dance elements to increase DV.

    Embarrassing final. Beam just keeps getting worse and worse. Not too long ago that first place routine would’ve struggled to make the finals.

    Yes but the Chinese consistently fall at every worlds or Olympics. Coaches need to change the dynamic or something because you can fully expect them to choke in most important situations

    So many TRANS-Athletes in this final! Great to see. The dude from Canada I noticed a buldge. Also the American did not shave the mustache off completely. And just as men have been femenized in the culture in the last few years these brute gymnasts too are serving up masculinity unlike anything we have seen before!!! It is great to see! I thought on a few it reminded me of routines you would see on RuPauls Drag race! Whachya packin!!! YAAAAAS!!! Drag dudes are here! Drag Kings for the win! Trans lives matter so much! Great to see it in sport and not just soccer and basketball. The elegant days of gymnastics are over and now we see the strength!!! Way to go dudes!! Muscle is HERE!!! And remember Black Lives Matter! And Black power Rising along with the LGBTQ world with Queer role model Morgan Hurd and her hairy armpits to boot on insta! Along with UCLA;s BLM routines! And now combined we are seeing a GREAT change in the sport! The routines even seem to be more and more like the men anyway on most events so it makes sense! YAAAAS!
