BBC Two - 18th February 2007 (first day of 'Window on the World' idents)

BBC Two's new look wasn't ready at the start of programmes that day, so the old look appears for the very final time at 6:00am introducing CBeebies. While I sadly don't have the very first showings of the new idents at 10am, we cut to 4:30 that evening (1:48) right up until the close of programmes early on Monday morning. This look for BBC Two would last until 2014.
Recorded on VHS at the time, one of the final recordings I have on the format before I stopped using it in 2008. All edits are from the original tape so I don't have any of the full programmes.

Despite them playing a montage of the old yellow idents for "the last time" the night before, it's interesting to see them play another one last time just before Cbeebies.
I find it crazy they created a "Top Gear Tonight" promo in the last look not even a few hours until the new look fully launched. But I probably shouldn't be surprised, given pres creates a "double bag" promo for everything.

Window On The World was a good set, but it kind of felt like the needle was somewhat stuck. The 2 idea from the 90's was a more loveable package. This felt a little pedestrian, it didn't make a very strong impression. I liked it, but it didn't have the same magic.

BBC must've agreed which is why this set was ditched in 2014

Yeah, I’m not sure why they used a personality 2 before CBeeBies, I’m assuming they just need a bit more time to compile them all together.

Hi, yep that would be great. I'm (slowly) dusting off my tapes and re-encoding the clips from the old blurry PP uploads circa 2006-8, but it'll take a while as they're all over the place, not all are labelled and some play better than others!

What if Peter Offer said the proper title, "The Last 48 Hours of Kurt Cobain" and not "Kurt Cobain: The Last 48 Hours"? He got the wrong title but hopefully, when that show repeated, he should said the proper title?

It was for the second series of Life on Mars, a new programme but set in 1973 hence the older logo.
