I heard this on another site many years ago and it's brilliant!! Please listen and u will not be disappointed!! These old school plays are a dream, so well written, acted, produced and have definitely stood the test of time!!

when i was a kid growing up in Scotland we thought all english spoke like this THEY do not thanks for the play enjoyed
From a time when police officers were all old Etonians.

A time when the town or village policeman had authority and public respect. Life was safer and happier then.

@@bea3693 Not an ideal era of course but you are right about policing. I guess they have never been held in such low esteem as now, apart from the criminals of course who are having a field day.

bea That's because such a time never existed. The play is not about ordinary people, these are rich privileged people with an arrogant superiority. Everybody else being a servant or unemployed, and most would be one or the other.
