Such an excellent writer. Brilliantly acted. A very clever story.
A fantastic portrayal of a narcissist personality 👌 A thoroughly enjoyable play to listen to at bedtime. Thank you ❤
Whalley is a superb writer and grabs my attention immediately. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Whalley is the best! I always get sucked in to his stories. ❤️
The sad part is that there are people just like this in real life.

WOW - What a thriller! Always grateful to the BBC the brilliant actors and the writers.
In school we (men & women) should be all given lessons in how to recognize a liar and how to recognize the lies we tell ourselves and ignore the evidence.

Yes, it should be part of the school curriculum. Abuse, of any kind, is pernicious and if you aren’t educated or at least know how to recognize it, naive even, it messes with your mind and it drags you under like nothing you’ve ever known.
Weakness of character manifests as lying, blaming and self-victiming. Narcissism at it's best - for the narcissist.
OMG - I don’t to spoil it for anyone but I am absolutely SEETHING. Great story and performance!

Jason Done is such a good actor - every word he utters I’m thinking NO! Don’t believe the slimy so and so! Ahh... she’s even cooking for slime ball!!!
I have no tears for Ian
Welcome back Arch! Really enjoyed this. Thanks.

I enjoyed this, but to think there are still people like this out there... Hahah.
You're back! So pleased and thanks for this.
I think the actor I this played in where the heart is years ago , and if I'm not mistaken waterloo road.
Omg I hated Ian, and the gullible women he lied to. But I’ve liked this drama because I stayed to the end.

Peter Whalley 💥 This one is great Thank you !
Brilliant!
Oh, those two female characters did my head in.
Holy cow.Cow. P Whalley, at his most intense, pens a corker.
This guy is the most pathetic thing ever! He keeps on saying, “ I couldn’t take it “ “ I couldn’t stand it anymore “! But I don’t think it ever once crossed his mind for one minute what does she want, how does she feel? All the time he’s lying through his teeth. OMG I can’t stand him! Someone should put him out of everyone’s misery! I’m just as pissed off at her for being sucked in yet again!

Very entertaining.
A happy ending of sorts but honesty is still the best policy. One lie begets another ad infinitum.
Great stuff!
Some people would rather climb a tree to lie than tell the truth with fett on the ground.

Completely amoral. Switches lies to suit himself. Blames others for his actions. Great writing and acting.
Is that Arch?

What awful, pathetic people. Also, spouses don't get a share of an inheritance.
The 'music ' is horrible. Is it really necessary?
And poor Jake Gyllenhal being posted up here as the male character. He'd probably do a good job if it was a movie.

He looks like Jason Done who voiced the character of Ian
Whaley is usually very interesting - but not this one. Small lives, banal individuals, whining, frequently hysterical voices etc. etc.
Not many sympathetic characters !
I hated the end. He was a rat.
The comments are more interesting than the drama - there are those against Ian and those against the wife...... both are to blame - but mainly the wife. He's just a spineless jerk. She's an enabler. Enablers get away with it all the time. The writing is often written in mega letters on the wall and yet the enablers keep the blinkers on / exist in a bubble of illusion that they can 'fix' things; that they are nice forgiving people instead of facing reality that they have made a mistake, it's time to walk out, put a slab on it and move on.

YUK!!! What a shitty, narcissistic comment!
I really don’t like happy endings. 😮
Peter Whalley may very well be a remarkably talented playwright, but his stories have literally NO endings! I have yet to see a single play that doesn’t end abruptly, as if the author ran out of ideas or had experienced a writer’s block. Some may be of the opinion that he does it on purpose to allow the audience to use their own imagination, but I don’t buy it, it’s way too convenient.

That was dumb 👎
I did find Pamela's character supremely annoying though. Talk about "nervy". Good play though.
Classic narc, lack of empathy and revision of history; great tale - shades of cos playing the dead father
Is this what British drama is? Whinging, shrieking, arguing, whimpering? This story lacks any real intelligence or craft or brilliance.

Ian's a nice guy, just bit confused.
