I miss my father so much. It’s been 20 years (I was 7 years old)but I miss him even more as time passes. He is still watching over me. I wasn’t going to go to my convocation because I didn’t have enough money. Suddenly I got a call from the bank telling that I can get a saving he has been doing for me if I wanted. All these years he was there for me whenever I needed his support. He was so thoughtful❤ He was a soldier so he knew his fate but he made sure that I have a good life even if he’s not here. ❤ My only hope is to be his daughter again❤

Prop Damage So you'd like all your TV stations be funded the commercial way and example in kids' shows there be 5min of toy commercials every 10mins? Publicly funded, educative non-comm stations like BBC (or YLE, the "bbc" of my homecountry) are important to balance out the overlycommercial, shallow crap that most cm TV channels barf out these days...

Yes, the BBC try hard when they need to get their ratings up over Christmas. We are just viewing figures and licence fee payers to them. Any deeper message to come out of this advert was just an accident on their part. The reality is that they would prefer us to be watching television and not spending time with our families.

Based on MY Dad!!!!.....45 years ago he and my Mum had very little money for Christmas presents one year, so he bought his three sons second-hand bikes, stayed up all through the night after hand-painting all three bikes the same colour and even put some paper snowflakes around them in the morning and held us back from going into the lounge in case Father Christmas was still there.... and screams of three boys rang out rang out as we found them!!!...a room filled with a rare commodity..."EXCITEMENT!!" The following year i went to his works Christmas Party for parents and children and as i went up to sit with Father Christmas to be given a present, i looked in Father Christmas's eyes and suddenly realised at that moment that Father Christmas was MY Dad...he leaned across and said some words i never forgot..."I KNOW YOU KNOW IT'S ME SON...but don't tell anyone ok. They probably would think you are crazy". He's 84 now and after this BBC Advert touched me deeply i gave him an extra hug this Christmas and said "Merry Christmas Father Christmas..a promise is a promise...i never told a soul". He smiled at me, hugged me, looking at me with those same eyes like 45 years was yesterday and said.."Good lad" and winked at me. FATHERS should all be this way with their children. Will always love you Dad.

Such a meaningful piece. Holiday inspired, focused on music and dance with a strong showing of togetherness and unanticipated support. Not to mention the animation and dance moves are fire. A lovely, very significant snapshot of fatherhood and the innocence/dreaming of childhood. Investment like this when a child is so young and impressionable will undoubtedly set them up for confidence and passion for the future. Relatable to anyone and hopefully thought-provoking for everyone. The simplicity of connectedness at its finest. Thank you for this!

Oh so you little ilk, had my comment removed. Why. Cut a nerve? What did your mum do when Lee Rigby was beheaded? What did your mum do when kids were reduced to bloodied piles of pulp in Manchester? What did your mum do when muslims parked a vehicle on people in Westminster and jumped out stabbing? But by all means. ENJOY the multicultural BBC shitshow.

I the grand scheme of things our lives in this day in age are busy, challenging and difficult. For all of us its very easy to get caught up in work commitments and things we do to support a family. We are distracted by so many things that we can lose sight of the things that matter. I have found that to be true of myself and being a dad of three young children I don’t want to miss those precious moments I have with them. Finding time to be with your family and show them that you care and take interest in what they are doing and helping to build a life is why we do it no matter whether it’s Christmas or not. We have one life folks let’s make the most of it. God bless.

I love things like this... it really proves that something doesn't need needlessly convoluted dialogue, unnecessary exposition, etc. to gets its point across. This short animation tells a story in only 2 minutes with nothing but the animation and the soundtrack, and it's still incredible. I had forgotten I added this to my Favourites list here on KZread, but I was so happy when I came across it again.

Barring illness, THE ultimate moment of concern....and the little girls smile on seeing her father stand up to be counted and that he was paying attention to her..PRICELESS.

I do tend to agree with you. Political correctness has gone bonkers in general, and that Christmas is about the birth of Christ. For many, It's also about connecting more closely with family and friends. For me that's what this video tapped into. I guess they can't cover everything.
