BBC Involvement?

The Russell Brand allegations are making more and more headlines every day. The Channel 4 Dispatches show did mention the BBC in a few parts, so I thought together we could look at this.

Yes even at the time he got off lighter , I know it's RBs show , but JR actually said the horrible thing and he is supposedly the more adult, experienced, professional broadcaster. I've never worked in the industry but if I brought in RB after seeing BB Big Mouth, I would have definitely had an adult in charge and checked before transmission. He said red alert or something so I think he assumed he was being checked and would be censored and edited anyway. Yes they wanted a wild card, but should have still considered their time of day and audience. BBC totally to blame for that one..Well done on stopping the licence by the way.

The issue with these allegations is that they destroy a man before he even has a chance to defend himself, you'd think all these media outlets had hard evidence on Brand for what they're accusing him of doing but they don't. As hard as we should come down on sexual assault cases when proved true, equally false allegations should face just as hard of punishment. The damage to a persons life, even if proved false, is colossal.

Can we get something straight. Russell Brand has been VERY open about his sexual life (a little too open for my liking). There is a big archive of Brand's radio shows, spanning from his time on BBC radio 6 to his move to BBC radio 2 online, and Russell bragged a lot (and I mean A LOT) about his sexual escapades. It seriously turned me off. At any rate, it was publicity known, and the tabloids dined on his revelations. So where the fuck was the outrage then? People in the comment section are using the word 'cover up'. What cover up? If you're going to brag about your sexual conquests on a radio show to millions, in your stand up comedy shows and write about it in a book, then it's the crappiest way to 'cover up'. I'm suspicious of the timing of these allegations and the whole thing reeks of Me Too-ism. And one last thing, one commenter called Russell Brand right-wing. He is pro Trans rights, pro LGBT, pro climate change, anti-capitalist, pro immigration, pro choice, a supporter of Jeremy Corbyn, and a self-described democratic socialist. With these positions, in what universe does this make Russell Brand right-wing!

When you bring together popular "artistes" with inflated egos and a sense that rules do not apply to them and an organisation desperate for ratings and in thrall to such "artistes", offensive behaviour will always go unchecked for a long time, and even more so at the BBC as they do not have to worry about what advertisers may think about such behaviour. As long as nothing changes at the BBC, particularly in the way it is funded, this will happen again and again.

I think Brands comments about his assistant were clearly a joke, no names were mentioned so it didn't actually affect her in any way, his assistant could be old and fat for all we know. Things he has said, joked about etc, are not illegal. There are plenty of programmes with worse content, it was also Jonathan Ross that made the comment about Brand shagging Sachs granddaughter. I agree with everything about the BBC and all lefty media, but all this cancelling people for things they do or say that are perfectly legal, even if in bad taste is wrong.

Disappointed Jon, you play the start of the Jimmy saville call, and cut it off, before he says Jimmy saville remins him of Santa, then said he finds santa a bit wierd/pervy or whatever he said, totally changes the context, IMHO from what you suggests 2 mates chatting to RB calling him out as a pervert After saying you "don't think he's been charged" (maybe i read too much into it, but that suggests to me hes been arrested)i think we would know if he had been arrested let alone charged, i didn't say much initially in my earlier post. But cutting the chat short too🤔🤔 As a highly qualified coincidence analyst im just getting the feeling you don't like or believe RB

I find it so amusing that basically the media i.e. BBC and C4 let all this bad behaviour happen for years and then they "investigated" presumably just looking at the HR file for him from all the stuff they ignored and then they put it all together in a documentary to make him look bad which it did. Now I'm not 1 to to any of this sort of thing but if you do some of these things and then HR doesn't come and have a word with you for 6 months you kind of feel like it's acceptable to them and the people you did it in front of. Imagine you were speeding every day for 10 years and then the police knock on your door 1 day and say I've got 300 speeding tickets for you that'll be 30 grand please. That wouldn't be acceptable would it.

One of the Admins has gone over......I mentioned that the post by a woman was very suspect in its wording..the kind the goons like to post to worry the proles....so All of the other Anti TV licence site slowly but surely got infiltrated and it looks like that one has too....their policy will be to delete posts by people who successfully counter attack any goon oriented posts....that's the way it happened with the others.
