You can tell Soundgarden liked them. And Jane's Addiction.

Suggestive of dark, morbid things, but not without a certain sense of humor.

It's good to know that others also appreciate the OBVIOUS humour. Why did music writers never hear it or was it just a case of them not wanting to? Funnily enough, I never heard Joy Division criticised for their lack of humour.

Almost all the coments here are totally irrelevant. Listen to the great music and shut up.
Очень круто!!! в СССР их, к сожалению, мало знали...

You made me go back to the times of beautiful youth... Thank you fuiter for publishing this crazy sounds (along to crazy photography! :D ). It was definitely one of my favourite Bauhaus session. Greetings from Warsaw, Poland - behind the Iron Curtain in those times. (It was much more fun to fight communist police as a young punk here, than to be only asked for ID in this boring, satiating Britain... ;) )

What ever became of these young lads ? Did they help to create and refine an entire Genre of music, that in its prime peaked a few short years after this recording ?

Pressureworks: Pretty much----they're called the firrst goth band, even though they didn't really call themselves that. Had the chance to see Murphy live performing only Bauhaus music a couple of years ago, and he not only looked good but sounded pretty darn good too. This is the first Peel session I've ever heard by them, so that's cool, too.

They have reunited back for the Bauhaus gig on October 2021 (Or maybe earlier). And they're still energetic as they were their younger days, never getting old or anything.

If you go to a Quite Place and listen very careful at a predetermined time and tune your Radio to Static - you can hear John doing an Amazing new broadcast every night ....
Without Double Dare 1979 there never would have been FNU Golem (2009). Real. That's my ear history of my love in music *if you dare try the FNU and are scared? skip to 5 20. The intro is just wallow noise. but they pick up and smash down after that

@@SteeeveO maybe, but there were several buildings in that style on Upper Mounts/Lower Mounts in Northampton, which would be visible looking north-east from a vantage point on top of the (then) bus station. In fact I think most of them are still there.
@SteeeveO

@@misterteaification It would be good if you're right - a little bit of history before they escaped the town! I did initially think that the building behind Daniel was the fire station - but then the large building behind David isn't the swimming pool, nor what is now the Charles Bradlaugh pub - & from memory the Chronicle & Echo building was further down the Mounts & not particularly tall. Still - I wasn't here in 79 so you could be right. Cheers.
Did they double Dare PIL?

I'm not convinced these are Peel Sessions. Sounds exactly like album versions on first two tracks. Too many fucking ads. Piss off.
Compared with 80s music, today's music sounds so predictable and unexiciting.
Y seraient pas un peu toxicos les gars?;)
When a band focuses more on their look and acting serious than learning how to play instruments - you get Bauhaus. Even the name is pretentious
