That was damn good teamwork. You know you're a good duo if you can beat Battletoads. Also, I love how the toads get so much ass from the dark queen. She attacks them by hitting them in the heads with her butt, while the toads fight back by head butting her in the butt.

I was curious to see how two players would have been able to have been able to play that fucking unicycle racer level. So to have to have one just opt out, not a bad trick. And that corpse carrying glitch on the last level, again, I'm impressed. Well done.

Might be a dumb question but what does brown toad taking hits and dying do to help exactly?

Nah that's a fair question. At 10:28 in the video, the game demonstrates its brokenness by not allowing player 2 to move in stage 11. This stage was never tested in 2-player, so they never knew to fix it. That means the game over is forced. But since dying there over and over is pretty slow, we've instead optimized the death routing in a way to have faster deaths throughout the game that take less time to respawn and get the game progressing again, so we don't have to wait as long in stage 11. Hope that helps.

+Eilleen Forrest The rat's coding has 'boss' status, so if you can deliver a finishing blow to the rat (like the big boot), the game assumes you've killed a boss, and ends the stage for you.

Amazing job, although not the cleanest of runs with all those warps and glitches, and that Hypno Orb fight didn't go too well. Great tricks on Terra Tubes though.

Not entirely familiar with all the rules of speed running, but wouldnt co op mean that the entire game was done co op? That one section was done solo so I dont see how it can be a "complete" co op run. Or does co op mean that there is a 2nd player just at any point in a run? Great play none the less. Just that is confusing me

Usually yes. Unfortunately that stage is unbeatable with 2 players in NTSC. The player 2 toad gets locked in place and can't move, so the game-over is forced. :( Bad game testing.

@@davemarleymusic9153 If player 2 lets the game over timer run out, he can press start in the blueprint screen between the two stages and come back for the next stage, since he still has continues left.

Both of those guys are talented speedrunners, and they had spent at the very least 1k hours each resetting this monster in various categories. Calling them cheaters is completely unfounded.

Glitches and exploits that are built into the game isn't considered cheating. Software, codes etc is cheating. You may be interested in looking at no warps / 100% runs or a fast paced walk thru instead.
