    19:39 I dont know whether @BrotherMunro notices but "Diesel II" was better than "Gas Turbines" weight wise and he was only loosing out on about 6% engine efficiency... edit: scratch that he notices 3 min later...

    You could maybe have dropped range on the super BB and added some secondaries and more armour. 46,400km range is ridiculously good.

    I regularly make BBs and BCs with no secondaries after 1925ish. As long as you have DDs and CAs screening for them, secondaries on capitals aren't needed.

    @@harjutapa I always put secondaries on, just in case the deployment system decides to pit a lone capital ship against a swarm of lighter ships.

    I would still prefer seeing secondary guns fitted out to her hull despite the range advantage. We'll never know if per chance the opponent might be able to push fast destroyers into torpedo range, and for aesthetics as well hehehe.

    Now what are you going to do when that super battleship gets put in a storm or the battle starts at 10km? On the other hand this is the first time ever I've seen anybody use the 19" gun at all. Would've gone for a 3x4 16" layout in the Santa Rufina refit and drop the range somewhat.

    Yup. While the speed is decent to good for a battleship, this is like the meme extreme of "Battleships are prone to being swarmed by fast, small ships". Slow turret traverse and long reloads on those amazing 19 inch guns means they may not even be able to bring them to bear on a TB or DD that charges in, and no way at all to deal with a small swarm other than hoping to simply 'tank' all the torpedoes until they run out of ammo. 🤣

    @@britishknightakaminininja1123Invasion bulk-ships. They will never be alone without the other 16 inch BBs and BCs. Sure, those also have limited secondaries, but so-long the game doesn't throw you in a short distance battle (which it should not do, usually, because of the high range on the 16"ers), more than enough guns to go around, especially if the main fleet can keep distance at 32 knts. The biggest threat will be having a large fleet engagement and running out of ammo because of putting down the escorts.

    I don't understand refitting in this game, how can you just change the entire composition of armor in 3 months?

    bare in mind, it's game NOT real life. I was thinking the same thing. However, changing the composition of armor yes would several months if you incorporate EVERY single time detail then the ENTIRE game would be over and the player got nothing accomplished. Let's say you refitted your BB's and you got 3 of them and you changed the armor composition. In real life, 3 would take several years. In game, that would've been you kicked out due to lack of power projection and staying power and other reasons like what brother Munro first faced when did the restart. You would constantly lost wars. Yeah, you got BC and others but fighting against a BB that's not wise. In addition, from a developer stand point to code in EVERY single TIME detail would take several years of writing, bug fixing, time, and efforts and money of course. Game Labs for SURE won't allow that. 3 to 4 months IN GAME time is reasonable. Hope it helps!

    @@samf3416 Coming from a big Rule the Waves 3 fan (I enjoy both games) I think you are overexaggerating the problems with refitting a ship for a very long time. It's just something you have to deal with as a head of your navy, and there's trade offs you need to take in order to manage your fleet properly both in wartime and peacetime, if you cant afford a longer refit in wartime then it's just something you have to deal with. and I don't think more strategy like that will harm the game.

    Could anyone help me understand how I can end wars, I have removed every ship of the Russian navy and the war wont end and I cannot ask for peace - this is ruining my economy as despite the fact that they are literally enable to affect me, I am stuck at -2% GDP. Love your MOD BTW Brother. Thanks.

    You need to meet some conditions for a peace deal: No active naval invasions No peace deal proposal in the last six months At least 20,000 VP more than your opponent (in DIP, vanilla is 10,000) If the Russians offer to talk hit agree, otherwise you can call for peace talks via the politics screen. There’s a chance they reject or go for ‘fight to the end’ you just have to be patient. Blockading the AI seems to encourage it to talk peace but I haven’t confirmed if that’s true or just me imagining it.

    Yes. If taken as a whole, for all the various 'decisions' that the AI handles, especially ship design, or considering mission objectives (e.g. when AI ships flee in a critical 'do or die' type mission) then the AI is absolutely abysmal. The vast majority of the game is pure random event generation rather than conscious AI strategy. There's not even attempt at making the 'AI' react to tactics or strategy by the player or the AI learning in ANY way from its losses (or successes). AI admirals have absolutely no level of 'thinking' about their careers, and never work to amass respect, for instance, relying entirely on random events which means that there's really no 'AI' at that level of the game at all. As for the battle 'AI' it is quite ridiculous, with basically an either a 'rush in' tactic because the AI thinks it has a chance, or a complete 'run away regardless of the mission' if the AI thinks it has low chance of overwhelming - the AI is simply far too simplistic, relying on far too few parameters to make decisions.

    @@fezparker2401 that's pretty true. Almost all of the 'challenge' of the game is simply that the game throws almost impossible match-ups at you, such as your one light cruiser, picked entirely by RNG 'encounters' an enemy convoy group of 2 heavy cruisers and a battlecruiser escorting 10 transports. You may still have to consider it just to be able to knock down some of those transports to slightly chip away at the army logistics and economy of the enemy.

    @@britishknightakaminininja1123 Yeah, the game has been on my wishlist for years now, and it is tempting to pick it up at the steam sale, but AI performance is annoying as heck, and not much signs of improvement over the last year at all.
